TEMPTATION

“Good morning, my sweet princess! I—I miss you terribly!!”  Rafael called Charlize through video call after letting him know that she’s already awake.

“Rafael, please don’t be late for your interview today, alright?” Charlize said in a serious tone

“Yes, ma’am!”

Rafael was surprised that Charlize is also dressed and ready to go to work. He asked if her office is close to where he’s going but Charlize said it’s quite far. She promised that they will meet in that area some other time. She wished him good luck for his job interview.

Rafael was early at the office for the interview. He was told to sit down on the couch by the receiving area. He admits to himself that he’s nervous. His knees are shaking. This is going to be his first time being interviewed in an office setting.

The secretary received a call and she walked to Rafael to tell him that Mr. Bob Rivas is already waiting for him at the office.

“Follow me, please.” the secretary said in a nice voice

Rafael was impressed with the office layout and design. The furnishings are not cheap and the employees that pass by are dressed in expensive clothes with signature shoes and bags.

He greeted Mr. Bob Rivas as soon as he entered the room. The secretary went to a corner and fixed them some coffee.

“Thank you, Milly.” Mr. Rivas said after the secretary served them brewed coffee. She closed the door and left the room.

“So…..” Mr. Rivas was smiling at Rafael.

“I’ve read the resume you submitted today and it seems like this is your first time to work in an office setting, am I right?”

Rafael was ashamed of the truth but he can’t deny it. His hands are shaking so he had to put his hand away from the table. Now, he feels like he wants to run to the door and leave the building. But if he gets cold feet, what about his dream to get a more stable and decent job? Rafael decided to sit tight and listen. He was so nervous that almost nothing registers in his head.

“If we hire you, when can you start the training?” Mr. Rivas asked

“T-today, sir. You can start to train me today.” Rafael answered shyly

“Oh, if you’re available today, then that’s great.

Rafael was surprised when Mr. Rivas extended his hand to him.

“Congratulations, you’re hired.”

Rafael could not believe what he heard. He doesn’t know any office works but he said he can easily learn them. He was hired and he can’t believe it. He cannot contain his happiness.

While Mr. Rivas is talking to his secretary, Rafael took his phone and sent a quick message to Charlize.

Charlize smiled when she read the message of Rafael.

“I’m hired.”

Mr. Rivas assigned Rafael to the Marketing department as one of their administrative assistants. He will be trained by Leila, a Senior admin assistant. The day went by so fast. Rafael didn’t notice that it’s almost 6:00 pm and time to go home. He got a call, and he was excited to tell Charlize about his day at the office.

“Hi. I’m so glad you called me. I’m sorry, I’ve been busy today with the training and time went by so fast. Do you have time to meet me today? Rafael gladly asked

Charlize instructed Rafael to meet her at the entrance of Sky Mall which is not too far from where he works. It was around 6:30 pm when he saw Charlize get off a 2021 Bentley Bentayga. He was so amused because the vehicle was different from what she used to drive and this one is more expensive. Dressed in a casual Burberry dress, Charlize came to Rafael with a big smile.

Rafael was dumbfounded. When Charlize told him they are going shopping, he didn’t expect that Charlize will go shopping for him. Charlize bought Rafael different shoes for different activities, clothes, and perfume. They were assisted by salesmen who perfectly knows his size already. After clothes shopping, they walked around until they entered a designer’s watch store. Charlize told Rafael were assisted to sit down on the couch for special customers while waiting for a salesman to come over. A tall guy, dressed in a suit attended to them and that’s when Rafael noticed his name tag, which says “Manager”. He was surprised to find out that she already reserved a special watch for him. He thought they just went in there to check out the watches.

“Hold on, this is an expensive watch.” He blurted out as soon as he opened the box handed to him by the guy.

“Rolex Cosmograph Daytona. There are more expensive ones than this one. But you’re right, this is quite expensive than the regular ones you see out there. You also have to buy this brand and style from an authorized dealer such as them.” Charlize pointed at the Rolex brand on the wall. She took the watch from the box and put it in Rafael’s left hand.

“Wait…” Rafael was holding Charlize’s hands

“This is too much. You already bought me clothes that I’m gonna be needing for work. But this watch is way too expensive. I—I can’t….I don’t know how to pay you.” Rafael said in a low voice, almost whispering.

“Hey, first of all, I didn’t ask you to pay me. You don’t have to. I’m just happy that you got the job and I’m helping you to feel comfortable with your everyday clothes when you go to work. And this watch….is my advance Christmas gift to you.” Charlize smiled. Rafael couldn’t help to kiss the beautiful woman in front of him. He held Charlize on her chin and they started kissing passionately.

“Errrm, hmmm” the store manager cleared his throat. Charlize heard it and slowly pushed Rafael away.

“Here’s my card.” Charlize took out her card and the manager gladly received it.

Rafael could not believe he’s now wearing an authentic Rolex watch. Never in his wildest dream that he’d have a real one. Signature clothes, shoes, and really expensive perfume. After they left the watch store, they went to a classy restaurant. Quite the price on their menu. He couldn’t help but ask Charlize why she’s got a lot of money to spend on shopping.

“I’m just wondering….my princess….”

“Hmm?” Charlize was smiling as if she knows what Rafael would ask him.

“Why do you have so much money? I mean, I never asked you before, but I hope you don’t mind me asking, what is your job? What do you do?”

“Well, I’m single and I’ve been working hard all my life. So I have saved quite enough for myself.” Charlize answered, hoping that Rafael won’t ask him more questions.

“But, you didn’t answer my question.” Rafael mused

Charlize smiled and told him that she will answer his questions some other time.

“Let’s eat and talk about me some other time, alright?” Charlize told Rafael

But Rafael insisted.

“I also don’t get it. You are so nice to me. Why? Why did you have to spend a lot of money for me?”

“Did I make a mistake, shopping with you?” Charlize said in a serious tone

“First of all….I didn’t give you anything the other night. The night we met and….you know, we slept together. I think you got really tired.” Charlize and Rafael laughed. But Rafael was still in awe.

“Seriously, I owe you,” Charlize said in a serious tone

“No, princess. I didn’t ask you for anything.” Rafael took both of Charlize’s hand

“I know, I know. But you date women to earn money, right”

Charlize paused thinking if what she said hurt his feelings. “I don’t really mean it….what I wanted to say was…”

“It’s true. I date women for money. But you’re different that’s why I didn’t ask you for anything. I guess because I really like you.” Rafael held Charlize’s hand on his chest. She felt his warm chest and a sudden warmth crawled on her arms. This guy is giving me goosebumps every time he touches me.

“Did you really know what my job was when we met the first time?” Rafael asked

Charlize was hesitant to answer his questions. Truth is, she took his picture while he was asleep and sent it to a friend to have him check his background. Charlize knows that if not for the tip he gets from being a beck and call, and working as a dancer at the bar, he wouldn’t be able to pay rent and dress appropriately. It wasn’t hard for her detective friend to find out Rafael’s background.

“Didn’t you remember? You told me that when we were about to sleep. I guess you were too drunk to remember the things you’ve told me.”

Charlize was able to find a reason not to tell him how she found out about his job. And that’s the reason why she went to the bar where he works. And it was planned when she went to the bar to see for herself that Rafael really works there.  Charlize knows a lot about this guy. The night they had s*x and spend the night together is the first time he didn’t ask for money from a woman. And that woman was her.

Charlie didn’t want to let him go back to the bar he works for. And the only way for him to stop working there is to give him a decent job.  That’s what she did.

“After dinner, can you stay in my apartment?” Rafael asked Charlize with a smile

“Aren’t you too tired today? You still have to wake up early tomorrow for your work.”

“You’re right. I’m tired and overwhelmed with what I did at work today. But I’m happy. I didn’t expect that there’s a big company that will hire someone like me and trains me, as well.” Rafael was true to his words. He was really happy and thankful for his new job.

“Let’s just wait until the weekend, alright? I want you to get some rest when you get home, and wake up early for work tomorrow. Promise, I’ll see you again this weekend.” Charlize smiled and felt happy when Rafael gave him a gentle kiss.

The next few days came by so fast for Rafael. He’s learning more each day. But he noticed that the Senior admin assistant Leila, who’s training him right now is being extra nice to him.

“Rafael! It’s break time. Let’s have lunch at the food court together so I can discuss things with you.” Leila said. Rafael couldn’t say no because she’s been training him for the whole week.

There’s a fancy food court on the 2nd level of the building and a lot of seats in the middle. This way, the employees in the building can choose a variety of food from different food stalls and they don’t have to go outside to look for a place to eat.

“It’s my treat,” said Leila

They ordered their food and started eating lunch. Leila started to tell Rafael that she’s single and the last time she was in a relationship was about 2 years ago. Rafael thanked Leila for the treat and for being patient in training him. Now he knows better and he can do some office works on his own. Rafael and Leila were in the elevator going back to their office. Suddenly, the elevator halted. Leila almost fell so Rafael grabbed her by the waist. He held her tight with both of his arms and moved her closer to him. Leila felt the warmth of his body. She was holding Rafael on his chest while Rafael was holding her wait. Even with clothes on, Leila felt his tough muscles. She looked at him intently and was about to give him a kiss when the elevator started to move up.

Rafael pushed Leila away from him slowly. Moving away from temptation.
