As if this date was to be doomed as well, my car sputtered to a stop somewhere amidst a f*****g forest. I looked at my phone, useless without bars, and cursed out loud, not that there was anyone to hear me. I knew I was bound to be close, but my phone’s GPS had been dropping off and coming back online for the last twenty minutes, so I didn’t know how close. I hadn’t actually had any real hope that it was going to see me to my destination. Without much choice, I started the trek to Vic’s house.
