Dinah sat in Jessica’s small apartment, her hands clenched into fists as the weight of last night’s events pressed down on her. The room was dimly lit, the air thick with tension as Jessica paced in front of her, her face lined with anger.
“This is insane, Dinah,” Jessica said, shaking her head. “They set you up. They drugged you. They took pictures of you to ruin your reputation. We have to do something.”
Dinah wiped at her tear-streaked face, her body still trembling. “I don’t even know where to start, Jess. Debbie said no one would believe me. And she’s right. Who would believe that I was drugged and taken advantage of? They made sure there was no evidence.”
Jessica stopped pacing and turned to her. “You sent me that address before everything happened. That’s something. Maybe we can trace it back to whoever owns that place, find out who set this up.”
Dinah exhaled, her mind racing. “Even if we do, what then? I don’t have proof that I was drugged. And that man… I don’t even know his name.”
Jessica frowned, thinking for a moment. “You said Debbie and Marcus were there, right? Maybe we can find a way to turn this against them. If we can get them to slip up, we might be able to use it.”
Dinah swallowed hard. The thought of facing them again made her stomach churn, but what choice did she have? She wasn’t about to let them destroy her life.
Jessica placed a hand on her shoulder. “We’ll figure this out. But first, you need to pull yourself together. You can’t let them see you broken.”
Dinah took a shaky breath and nodded.

Later that day, Dinah and Jessica arrived at the university. Dinah knew she would have to face Debbie and Marcus sooner or later, and she refused to cower. The moment she stepped onto campus, she could feel the stares. People whispered, some snickered, and a few had their phones out, no doubt spreading whatever rumors Debbie and Marcus had already started.
Dinah ignored them and walked straight toward the main hall, where she knew Debbie and Marcus usually hung out.
Sure enough, there they were leaning against a locker, laughing as if they hadn’t just ruined someone’s life.
The moment Debbie spotted Dinah, her smirk widened. “Well, well, look who decided to show her face.”
Marcus chuckled. “I thought you’d be hiding in shame after last night’s little adventure.”
Jessica stepped in front of Dinah before she could react. “Cut the crap, Debbie. We know you set her up.”
Debbie feigned innocence. “Set her up? Oh, please. Dinah was caught in bed with a guy. That’s her own fault, not ours.”
Dinah clenched her fists. “You drugged me, Debbie. You made sure I couldn’t fight back. Then you took those pictures to humiliate me.”
Debbie’s eyes gleamed with amusement. “And what exactly are you going to do about it?”
Jessica pulled out her phone. “Actually, we do have something. Dinah sent me the address before she blacked out. We can find out who owns that place and prove that you were involved.”
For the first time, Debbie’s smirk faltered. Marcus shifted uncomfortably beside her.
“You’re bluffing,” Debbie hissed.
Jessica smirked. “Try me.”
Marcus stepped forward. “Listen, you don’t have proof of anything. No one’s going to believe a couple of desperate girls over us.”
Dinah’s blood boiled. “We’ll see about that.”
With that, she turned on her heel and walked away, Jessica right beside her.
---
That evening, Dinah and Jessica sat in front of Jessica’s laptop, trying to trace the address Dinah had sent before blacking out.
Jessica typed rapidly, her brows furrowed in concentration. “The place is registered under a company name. But it looks like it’s just a cover.”
Dinah leaned in. “Can you find out who actually owns it?”
Jessica bit her lip. “It’s tricky, but I can try.”
Minutes passed in tense silence as Jessica continued digging through online records. Finally, her eyes widened.
“Got it,” she breathed.
Dinah leaned in closer. “Who?”
Jessica turned the screen toward her. The name on the file sent a shiver down Dinah’s spine.
Ethan Blackwell.
Dinah’s stomach twisted. She had heard of Ethan before—a rich, powerful businessman known for his underground dealings. If he was involved, this was bigger than she had thought.Jessica looked at Dinah. “If Ethan Blackwell is behind this, we need to be careful. He’s not someone you mess with.”
Dinah swallowed hard. “I don’t care who he is. I just want to know why Debbie and Marcus are working with him.”
Jessica nodded. “Then we need to find a way to get close to him.”
Dinah exhaled sharply. “And how do we do that?”
Jessica smirked. “Leave that to me.”

The next day, Dinah received a text from Jessica:
Meet me at the Black Orchid club tonight. Wear something nice.
Dinah hesitated. She had never been to the Black Orchid before, but she knew it was one of the most exclusive clubs in the city—owned by none other than Ethan Blackwell.
She had a feeling this night was going to change everything.
---
That evening, Dinah stepped into the Black Orchid, her heart pounding. The club was filled with rich, powerful people, their conversations blending with the heavy bass of the music. She scanned the room, searching for Jessica.
Then, she saw her—standing at the bar, talking to a tall, dark-haired man.
Dinah made her way over.
Jessica turned and smiled. “Dinah, meet Liam. He’s one of Ethan’s close associates.”
Liam smirked. “Jessica tells me you’re looking for answers.”
Dinah’s breath caught. “I am.”
Liam leaned in. “Then you’ll want to meet Ethan himself.”
Dinah’s pulse quickened. “And how do I do that?”
Liam grinned. “You already have.”
Dinah froze as a deep voice spoke behind her.
“Looking for me?”
She turned slowly, and her breath hitched.
Ethan Blackwell stood before her, his piercing blue eyes locked onto hers.
Dinah knew, in that moment, that she was in far deeper than she had ever imagined.
