Jack As I was concerned, the house looked perfect. Emma had really outdone herself. There was fresh greenery swagged everywhere and tied with velvet ribbons. The tree was decked out in white lights and sentimental ornaments that Sophie and Emma had picked. A hot chocolate bar was piled over on the usually unused dining table. And those were just the holiday decorations. The more permanent design choices Emma had made fit the brownstone perfectly. She’d changed paint colors and furniture, added a funky wallpaper to the foyer, turned the butler’s pantry into a cool ass bar. Whatever she’d done to the lights made the house glow, especially on these dark winter evenings.
