Next week" Finally, Next week had arrived, and Evelyn stared at the building before heading inside for her job. The memory of last week was so clear to her, the clenching of her breath against his couldn't flee from her mind. Evelyn shake off her head, as she adjust her cloth before heading inside. The smiling faces of everyone could determine what today will be like. "Welcome, Miss Evelyn," Sasha said, as she smiled. "Thank you," Evelyn said, surprised over Sasha's sudden kindness; something was off, but anyway, she didn't care. While she moved toward the elevator to the store room, a hand pulled her closer. Evelyn held herself from stumble, as she glanced at the person. "Congratulations Miss Evelyn" she stared at Victor, the manager's face suprisely. "What do you mean?" She asked, still not okay with his sudden good smile. "You're now the secretary of Mr Dickson," he said, while they handshake each other. "Thank you," Evelyn said, pulling her hands off his, and she moved toward the elevator. "Our new Secretary," Clara said, as she called Evelyn from far away, while she smiled widely. "Please don't," Evelyn said, jokingly as she was tired of everything going on. "Don't what? Better accept it," Clara said as they both hugged each other tightly. "Thank you, but how come?" She still asked; maybe it was a joke. *You can ask him, anyway. See you later," Clara said, as she waved at her before leaving. Evelyn glanced at her friend walking with the cleaning items, she sighed before heading toward the elevator. Finally, Evelyn reached Mr Dickson's office, and she knocked. "It's opened, come in," she heard his voice speak out from inside. She held her breath for a second before breathing out and getting herself. She slid the door open, and she felt his eyes scanning her whole body. "Welcome, Miss Evelyn." Mr Dickson welcomes her, his hands forward. "Thank you, Sir," she said as she walked closer to him, while all the time he glanced at her. His eyes were directly piercing through her skin, making it glow in his eyes. "Is it true, I'm your new secretary?" Evelyn asked, not minding the straight question. He stared at her before clearing his throat, then spoke. "Yes, you're," he said, but Evelyn scanned his eyes, trying to find an atom of lie in it, but couldn't. "But why Sir...I'm just a cleaner" she tried explaining, but his look wasn't going well with her words. "You have the potential to be, and I see it in you; thank you for the other day," he said as he thanked her. "But..." She got interrupted by him, as he looked at her firmly. "Not, but you deserved it," he said as he continued staring at his laptop. "When do I start Sir?" She asked. Mr Dickson lifted his head as he stared at her before placing his pen on his table. "Today, Now," he said. "Today?" She asked as she scratched her hair, making it mushy. "Please hold on". He said; Evelyn watched him place a call before facing her. "She will be here in a minute," he said. "Who?" She asked, still wondering who can it be. "My employee, she will explain and show you everything you need to know for this job and the details," he explained. "Thank you, Sir," Evelyn said, as she smiled happily. Her heart was racing with speed, as she held her chest. Finally, after some minutes of waiting, Daisy walked inside while she flipped her files majestically. "Sir," she said; Evelyn watched them both talk seriously. He wasn't even smiling at her for a bit. "Please, explain to her the details," Mr Dickson said. "But Sir... I'm busy with..." Mr Dickson interrupted her words. "I'm commanding you to do so, not a favor to be made," he ordered her as she nodded before making way for Evelyn. Evelyn couldn't believe how rude he was to Daisy, as she smiled while walking behind her. They walked out of his office, as Diasy kept on explaining to her about the job and everything she needed to know. "One more thing" Diasy spoke, as Evelyn turned behind to face her. "You don't dare tamper with Mr Dickson's anger anytime he isn't in a good mood. Better walk away or avoid anything that will lead to your sacked, okay?" Daisy warned her. "Thank you," Evelyn said as she smiled while they walked to her office. "This is your office, closer to Mr Dickson's own. In case of anything he needs, make sure to be on time," she said while placing the office keys to Evelyn. "Thank you," Evelyn said, as she stood there watching Daisy walk away. Immediately she did, she moved closer to her door and placed the card inside. Evelyn's eyes sharpened and widened as she saw the large office in front of her. The beauty and design made for it was a paradise to her. She didn't know as she rushed toward the seat, sitting down and feeling the taste of it. She glanced at the brown neat table, her eyes merging with the documents on the cupboard. A lot was going on in Evelyn's mind. She couldn't get it off. She moved out of the seat and headed straight to the large cupboard on the wall. She rubbed her hands on the fresh documents, scenting the aroma of the books was her thing. It was paradise on earth, as she kept on glancing at everything in the office. Not allowing even a bit to miss, as she didn't know what to do next. But immediately her mind got into what Diasy said earlier. She rushed back to her seat, placing the laptop in front of her while she glanced at the old work. It wasn't as difficult as expected, but it was quite huge and much for her. Hours passed, and Evelyn leaned on her chair as she gasped for air; the heavy work she thought wasn't going to be hard was definitely. "Finally," she said, as she scrolled to the last file left. Her eyes getting weak and pale already from the overworking. Immediately, her office phone rang, making her jerked off in fear. She stared at it for some seconds before picking it up. "Hello?" She said, but she listened to the quietness. "Don't you know my number? Come in my office now." Immediately, Evelyn heard the familiar voice. "Sorry Sir... Alright, Sir," she stammered, while Mr Dickson hung the call. Her heart beat faster as she held her chest while gasping for more air. She moved out of her seat as she ran toward Mr Dickson's office. "Come in," he said; she didn't allow him to finish. Evelyn's found herself inside his office, his eyes still fixed on his laptop. But he noticed present and then stopped what he was doing, before facing her. "What's wrong Sir?" Evelyn asked as she moved closer to his table. "Please help me out on this," Mr Dickson said, his face bright. She glanced at his face, seeing the mean and arrogance boss to be gentle in front of her. "Alright," she said, as she pulled the laptop to her view. Glancing at the strategies for the next launching of the new gadget. "I think this one will be better," she said while she pointed at it. He stared at her before staring at the laptop. The black electricity stick for police people, the one Evelyn chose, has more potential and uses than the other one. "Yes, that's great, thank you," Mr Dickson said as he thanked her. Evelyn lifted a smile "You're welcome" Immediately, the door opened, and Evelyn found herself on the ground while a lady punched her for the second time.
