I don't know when Kade left that night. I hadn't seen him for three days; he seemed to have gotten busy. But when I woke up, I found a note from him on my desk.
Kade told me not to worry. He had sent guards to the Shadow Pack to help my mother and prevent her from being beaten by Mark again because of any rumors.
Underneath his note, which contained his promise, was powerful proof: a letter written in my mother's handwriting.
