Chapter 9

            I could feel the sun’s warmth on my skin. I rolled over and stretched on my soft and plush bed, I felt rested and energized.

“Good afternoon Rica.” Adam greeted with a grin on his face. I was shaken by his voice, my eyes were fighting to open to see my surroundings. There he is Adam, so gorgeous, lying on my bed, so close to me that I could smell his shampoo scents, he was gazing at me. “Why are you here?” I was startled to see him on my bed.

“Well, we tried to wake you up but to no avail. You were sleeping like a log. I wonder how your mum wakes you up every day?” Adam replied cheekily. Yeah. I knew that. My mum always has difficulty waking me up in the morning, so she resorted to sprinkle water on my face. I smiled thinking about my mum.

“Is it afternoon already?” I asked him to change the subject.

“Yup. Are you ready to go out for sight-seeing now?” Adam returned.

 “Oh? Where is Elaine then?” I asked thinking it was embarrassing to let him see me in this state. “Elaine is out to run errand. She opened the door for me as she can’t wake you up. Come let’s get ready so I could bring you out for visiting.” Adam replied with a grin while offering his hand to get out of the bed. “Give me 10 minutes.” I said and hopped into the washroom.

You wouldn’t been to Singapore if you didn’t take photo with the Merlion. The Merlion is the official mascot of Singapore, depicted as a mythical creature of a lion’s head and body of a fish. Limousine has fetched us here to take a few photos together.

“I thought you would like the scenery here as it is your first time.” Adam suggested with a smile and he continued “Although I have been here for a hundred times.” Such a show off I thought to myself.

After visiting the Merlion, Adam brought me to Marina Bay Sands to the famous infinity pool and after that we went to the hotel buffet to have dinner there. We had a scrumptious feast in a private VIP room. We went to Orchard Road for sight-seeing and a quick shopping. I bought some local snacks for my mum and Mei Ling. He brought me to Gardens by the Bay at night. It was magnificent. It was a garden within a city. There are a few large pillars decorated with lights and plants. He brought me to the garden that decorated with Heather plants.

“This is your plant. Sophisticated from the inside yet simple from the outside.” Adam explained with a smile across his cheek.  I felt so touched that he knew my name was derived from Heather plant, Japan. I was admiring the shades of the plants and I heard a loud “BOOM”. I lifted my head and there it was colourful fire-works above my head. So vibrant and mesmerising. Adam hugged me from behind.

“Do you like my surprise?” Adam asked with a smile.

“Like? I love it! Thank you.” I replied and gave him a peck on his cheek. The fireworks lasted 15 minutes for me to admire. It was a moment to remember and I won’t forget for the rest of my life.

We went to Ministry of Sound at night. We had a drink and we danced the night away. After clubbing, the limousine dropped us at the hotel lobby. We retired for the night. I was feeling exhausted. I took a shower and wore my Wonder Woman pyjamas. I was blow drying my hair. I thought to myself that Adam was serious about me.

I heard a knock on the door. “Could I come in?” Adam asked.

“Oh? The door is not locked.” I replied. He opened the door. He smiled while scanning at my pyjamas. He only has his pants on and showing his muscular torso. “Let me help you to blow dry your hair.” Adam said while taking over to blow dry my hair meticulously. I was melted by his sweet gestures.

“I wished to touch you all over, but I couldn’t. To be fair to you. I have to let you know what I am.” Adam gazed at me lovingly.

“What do you mean? What are you? I know you are the only heir to Smith Group.” I asked.

“No. That’s not what I meant. Today is a perfect day. Let’s not ruin today. I would tell you some other time.” Adam replied as he cuddled me on the soft and fluffy bed. I started adjusting my posture and my hair, so it would not irritate Adam.

“Please stop fidgeting. I don’t know how long I could control the beast inside me.” Adam told. I rolled over and gazed at him smelling his masculine scents.

“So, you are a werewolf? Are you going to evolve?” I teased Adam. 

Adam burst out laughing “You prefer werewolf or vampire? I could cosplay for you. I think you read too much romance.” Adam laughed even louder.  

I pouted my lips. “So, you think this is funny huh?”

Adam continued, he tried to hold his laughter “I’m sorry darling. So, you prefer mermaid, goblin or elves?” He burst out laughing again. I was mad I grabbed a pillow and threw at his perfect face.  

“Get out of my room now!” I threw a few punches on his body but the punches seem futile on his strong muscular body. Adam sat up and as he was leaving the room, he grabbed my waist and said “Goodnight my Erica. There is no one more beautiful than you.” Although I was smitten but I kept my cool. I pushed Adam outside of my room and slammed my door on his face. “GOOOODNIGHTTT” I replied.

            Adam was such a perfect person. It was normal to think that he might not be a human. I had too many things going through my mind and my imagination had just gone wild. My life changed so much since I started at Prestige University.
