CHAPTER 17
Because of my confrontation with Mike and Vito's professed disgust with me for turning him down, I was in a state of depression for the next few days.
Vito's constant references to me as blow job Betty began to make me feel very cheap. At first I had rolled with the tide and had not let such statements bother me, but the more involved I got with Vito and his whole operation, the more squeamish I became. For one thing, he had told me that he was part of an underworld connection. Mike was involved directly with the underworld, and apparently so was Vito.
