Molly Sunlight spills across my face, dragging me slowly out of sleep. I stretch under the blankets and instinctively turn to the side, expecting to feel the solid warmth of Charles beside me. Instead my hand meets cold sheets. I frown. The space next to me is empty. I push myself up on my elbows, glancing around the room. The bathroom door is slightly open. “Charles?” I murmur. No answer. He must be in the shower. I slide out of bed and walk toward the bathroom, but when I step inside, the room is empty. No steam. No running water. Huh. Well… I’m already here.
