26 Scout took one last walk through her apartment, looking for anything that might come in handy. She had left the dogs’ leashes in her belt pouch. She wanted both her hands and the dogs to be free. She transferred everything from her old jumpsuit pockets to the pockets in what she was wearing. She wasn’t sure how the plastic dog whistle could be of any use, but she kept it anyway.
