31I wondered why Moon Rock would hurt me so badly, when all I did was love him. In the kitchen, popping popcorn, Mom approached the inevitable subject. “I think, Baby, I think Moon Rock’s got to go.” “No, it was my fault. I snuck up behind him and scared him. It’s not his fault. He’s a reptile.” “Yeah, but if he did it once, he’ll do it again.” I called Skye, crying, telling her I almost died and that Mom was going to get rid of Moon Rock. “Life sucks,” Skye said. “Everything good turns out bad.
