CHAPTER FOUR PERCY WAITED IN THE shadows of a large walnut tree until he saw the Hummer’s headlights cutting along the empty street. He moved out of the shadows as Alf pulled the big car up to the curb. Godric and Clovis climbed out of the H2 at the same time Alf did. “Where is she?” Alf asked. Percy jerked his head toward the detached building. “She went to ground about an hour ago.” Godric frowned. “Why’d you wait so long to call us?” “I wanted to give her time to settle in, relax.” Clovis scanned the street. “Any sign she was followed?” “Not by anybody but me.” Percy frowned.
