I stood wrapped in stunned silence. Sarah picked Allison up in her arms and held her tight. A faint circle of light radiated from their bodies. A tear fell from my eye, moistening the soiled ground. Sarah finally spoke.
“Isn’t she beautiful?”
“Very much so.” I smiled.
“Poor dear, she’s still a little out of it. I had to come with tremendous light. It was the only way to break you free. If you haven’t seen the light, it can be pretty overwhelming.”
“You mean the light in the dungeon, that was you? You told us to run?”
“Yes. A mother’s love is powerful, isn’t it?”
“The most powerful thing there is. Thank you for that.” I looked into Sarah’s soft blue eyes. Her hair was dark like her daughter’s, kindness radiated from her aura, surrounding the atmosphere as she held Allison in her arms
