I stood outside my burning body, watching the flame of Sunny's dark ritual release my soul in a stream of black energy and hurl it toward the earth plane. I hovered in the clouds above a large building, senses disoriented and groggy, until my spirit descended to the roof. The surrounding air vents and mechanicals caused me to long for the serenity of my sanctuary at the school, but this was no haven. My heart felt heavy and out of sorts, weighted oppression engulfed my entire being. Looking over the edge of the building, an empty platform and podium surrounded by electrical outlets and wires stood below. I recognized the area … the Millersville government center and jail that held Jacob; awaiting trial for murder. I willed my thoughts to float upward into the atmosphere but couldn't get
