Luke opened his eyes and sat up in bed. The street light outside must have gone out. The room was pitch black except for the digital numbers on the clock which read 3:21 a.m.  “I know you’re here. The air is freezing cold. Go away.” Luke’s head pounded. “I went inside your mind. I can read your thought energy. You don’t want to try this.” The phantom voice whispered. “Are you going to help me? If not, then leave me alone.” “I’ve always offered my help, have I not?” “What do I need to do?” “You need to make the hard choice.” “I can’t do that.” “Once you make the hard choice, things will begin to go more smoothly for you.” “The cops are getting close. If I don’t act now it’s over.” “You shouldn’t move the body.” Chills ran up and down Luke. “You will fail.” Luke’s stomach churned.
