Chapter 15 - The Last Chapter

616 Words
Multi POV The next day, Seth was helping the hospital staff as they spoke to the families of the injured. All of the injured and dead were warriors. He thanked the goddess and Bellamy for that. At least these families had already on some level acknowledged the risk. Anton was out helping to move the dead inside, helping to identify those he could, and call in families who were still missing people when he couldn't identify them. At the end of the day, he sat on the floor of his bathroom staring at his blood-covered hands. Stained from moving all of the bodies, part of him wondered if they would ever appear normal again. Bellamy was working with calming grieving families, Mellissa and Emily with him. Emily paused, "Bellamy? you're, I think, I can feel your emotions." Mellissa stood, walking over and hugged him tightly. "I definitely can." Bellamy looked up, "Is that another Luna - Kekal thing or?" Emily shook her head. "I think that's a you thing sweetheart." Desmond was sitting in his temporary room when there was a knock on the door. "Come in." Emrys stepped inside, "hello Desmond, I thought hearing things from me rather than in front of the entire council might feel a bit nicer." Desmond looked up, "My fated mate is dead, and I killed her. Nothing is going to feel worse than that." Emrys walked over, "You are probably right, do you mind if I sit?" Desmond shook his head, Emrys sat next to him. "The council will see to Starla's remains, the vales wouldn't take them. You and I have been suggested to find a coven. We no longer have a place among the council." Desmond turned, "Why you?" Emrys smiled, "I was more of a volunteer, I'm a sire. If you were with me you wouldn't go rogue." "You'd do that for me?" Emrys smiled, "I've always been willing to do whatever I could for you. Not because I want you as mine, but because I saw the pureness you have. The love and hope you held, it's too late for me with those types of things, but I'd die to keep you safe, to keep your spark lit. This was truly the least I could do." Desmond looked over, "what if the spark is already gone?" Emrys shook his head, "It's not. It's been damaged but I can see it." Gregory was sitting in the hospital room. He was pissed Donahue had ran off to fight with the warriors and had been badly injured. Donahue smiled at him, "You're still cute, even when your mad at me." Gregory growled softly, "I had to stay put, I had to you understand that, right? I needed to keep everyone calm. So I'm trying to calm everyone else even when I'm in the process of having a panic attack, because I don't know if your alive or not." Donahue winced, "I'm sorry, I am a warrior, I was doing my job just the same as you. I didn't mean to worry you, but you would know if I died, you would feel it." Gregory stood walking over to the bed, "lift your arm, I don't want to lay on any of your tubes." He curled on the bed, "At least talk to me next time, please?" Donahue kissed the top of his head. "Of course my penumbra." Gregory rolled his eyes, "Are you going to tell me what that means eventually?" Donahue smiled, "It means, the light part of a shadow. It means you are my light, for I am a shadow." Gregory's eyes filled with tears. "I love you." Donahue held him tighter, "I love you too."
