Chapter 2, What did you put on your arms?

Juniper POV

Crap, that must have happened when I hit my head. I see the Alpha who calls himself Efraïm mindlink someone. after a few minutes someone knocks on the door. The Alpha lets him in and points to me. The man puts his bag on the table near the couch and walks towards me. Hi, I am Doctor Sheen. Can I take a look at your wound? I curl up and try to protect my head. P please d d don't.

Juniper, please let the doctor help you. The alpha sits down next to me. Please Juniper. I start to hyperventilate and feel my tears coming. I try to stop them but they keep coming. I still keep my hands above my head so the doctor can't reach my head. The doctor turns around and walks away with the alpha. They talk for a while. After a few minutes a woman comes in.

Hi, I am hannah. I want to take a look at your headwound. I will be very careful. I take my hands away and let her look at my head. She looks at my wound and consults with the doctor. I start feeling a little weak. Louve has been silent ever since I hit my head in the car. Juniper your wound isn't healing very fast. I want to stitch your wound. We should do that in our packhospital. Let me help you up. Oh, but first you have to take your jacket off. It's quite warm in here. Hannah helps me up and takes my jacket off. She looks at my arms, Juniper, what is going on with these bandages on your arms? I feel a bit dizzy and try to lay down. Ah, it's nothing I wisper, but I already feel Hannah taking off the bandages. Efraïm POV

Hannah, why is there wolfsbane on her arms? I ask walking over to Juniper, who is now passed out on the couch. Brother I don't know. But my first concern is getting her to the packhospital. I nod and pick her up. With Hannah and Doctor Sheen following me to the packhostal, I run as fast as I can.

As soon as we arrived at the pack hospital, I lay Juniper down. The doctor checks her vitals and Hannah is starting to take the wolfsbane from Juniper's arms. This is not the easiest job because the wolfsbane sticks to her skin. When Hannah is done, she puts some balm on her arms, and binds them.

I grab a chair and put it next to Juniper's bed. I look at her. She lies there so still. She is beautiful, she has long blond curly locks which seem to fal to all sides. I close my eyes for a second. This should not have happened, I just wanted to talk to her, and get to know her, but apparently she is extremely stubborn en thinks it is necessary to hurt herself.

Juniper POV

Carefully, I open my eyes and look around me. When I look to my right, I stare directly in Efraïm's sad green eyes. He tells me he was really scared and is happy to see me awake. I pull my hand away and look to my left. I feel tears starting to come up. I close my eyes and try to put them away.

Louve? are you there? I say in my mind, looking for my wolf. I am here Juniper, where oké but I need to rest right now.

After a while I hear Efraïm standing up and walking away. When I hear the door close, I sigh. He is gone, finally. If I am like this he will not have me. Only when I am fully healed I can meet his expectations. But I hope it will never come to that.

After two days they finally let me leave the hospital. I try to get out of the bet but still feel a bit wobbly. Suddenly I see the door open, an elder lady walks in. She looks at me and smiles.

Hi honey, you are so beautiful. I am here to pick you up. I stare at her questioning, I am sorry mam who are you? The woman looks at me smiling. Please don't call me mam. My name is Mia, I am Efraïms mom. He thought it was best if I would pick you up, because he noticed you were a bit frighted when he was near you.

The woman grabs my hand and leads me to a big house. When we are inside, I follow her on to two stairs. I still am not fully healed, so i decide to follow her. When we are upstairs, she walks to a door and opens it. Come in Juniper. This is going to be your room for the time being. Normally you would sleep with your mate, but I think this is the best for now.

I loo angrily at Mia. Pardon me, the best for now? I did not choose this. Just let me go and I will not bother the Alpha or his pack. If I am gone, the Alpha will be happier. Mia looks at me with sorrow in her eyes, turns around and leaves the room without saying another word.

Efraïm POV

Mom, how did it go? My mom walks into my office, closes the door and takes a chair near my desk. For a moment she is silent.

Efraïm, I think.... Mom, what do you think. I look at her and wait expectantly.

Efraïm, I believe she is a wonderful girl and could probably be a good Luna, but she is afraid, she acts fearful around men, she seems to trust women more but stays suspicious. She says she does not want to be with you.

I turn around and look out of my window. I feel Aragorn getting angry. I shush him and turn around to my mother. Mom what do you mean?

I now feel my own pain. Seven years ago I met Kate. She was my mate. I transformed her because she was human. We were so happy when she got pregnant. But during the birth, I lost both her and our daughter. I sit down in my chair and try to hide my tears that are now running from my eyes. I feel my mom putting her hand on my shoulder. Efraïm, you got a second chance for a happy life. Kate would be so happy for you.
