Emmeline scrolled through the photos one by one. Her hands were shaking and her mouth was gaping in shock. "Oh my gosh!" Emmeline was still scrolling through the photos. Lea uploaded a lot of photos taken that night. "Oh!" Emmeline ruffled her own hair, while her other hand was still holding the phone. "This is crazy," she sighed later.
"Judging from the upload time, Lea uploaded all of that while she was watching the fashion show earlier. Certainly before Anna's appearance. I want to ask you now. How could you let her do all that?"
"What do you mean, Chloe? If I had known would I have let it be? Oh, my God, help me." Emmeline closed her eyes in confusion. "Let me remind you. So, Lea wasn't sitting right next to me. She—she was by my dad's side. Meanwhile, me, I sat beside my mom. So I—I ah!" Emmeline covered her face with one hand. "I don't know when she did all that. When she uploaded all those photos!"
Chloe sighed. She looked away for a moment. "Okay," she said then. "Now think about it, how are you going to follow up on this matter?"
Emmeline, looked at Chloe for a moment, but didn't know what to say. She didn't know how to control everything now. While she looked thoughtful and didn't seem to have come up with a solution, Chloe said quietly, hoping she didn't bother her best friend—who was also her boss at the same time, "Em ... to make you feel a little better, I'll also tell you, that the news about the fashion show was very satisfying. The average review was positive. Many people appreciated it. They said, a model who had an accident backstage, had brought her pain in front of all the audience, and with Karfis & Vin boss, Emmeline Karfis, who organized the event, they both turned a near-miss performance into a dramatic treat that made the fashion show the most memorable of its kind ever." Chloe looked at Emmeline. "The reviews are positive," she reiterated.
Emmeline was still silent, glancing at Chloe. "Okay," she said. "We need to talk about Anna now. How is she?"
"I've already had someone take her back to my house. I'll catch up with her a little later to call her a doctor and make sure she rests. After that I'll get back to you and get back to work."
"Fine. Don't delay. Go take care of Annaliese. I don't want anything to happen to her." Emmeline, ruffled her hair again. Chloe, seemed hesitant to leave Emmeline alone.
"Are you sure?" Chloe asked.
"Yes. No need to think about me."
"Ah, where is Lea now?"
Emmeline, glanced at Chloe at the question. She looked disinterestedly at her surroundings. "What's the use of bringing up all of her actions now. The photos have been seen by many people. Already done."
Chloe looked at Emmy sympathetically. "You're right. So many comments have been written on that post. Prayers, best wishes, congratulations, all flooded the comments column. You are not very active on social media. But your sister is so active. You should remember this when you guys took those pictures that night. Though Lea probably just meant to—"
Emmeline glanced sharply at Chloe. Everything Chloe said seemed to add to the heat rather than calm or lead Emmeline to find a solution. Chloe noticed the sharp glance. "Excuse me," she said backing away, escaping her boss's bad mood.
"Huh!" Emmeline sighed loudly. Chloe had passed before her. In the midst of this miserable confusion, Emmeline decided to head to her car in the parking lot, which was where she also met Lea and her parents.
Emmeline looked at Lea in awe, remembering everything Lea had just done. She knew Lea wasn't even aware that what she was doing was giving Emmeline a headache.
"Ah, Emmy, I was just about to call you. We have to go now, Emmy. Mom and Dad are going back home, while I have an appointment with a friend for a bit," Lea said. Emmeline, watched her silently. "Emmy, what's wrong with you? Why are you silent?"
"Um—yes, fine. I ... I have to get back to the office. I have some things to take care of over there."
"Oh, okay, honey. But you have to remember to give yourself time to rest if you feel tired," Jeanne came closer and kissed Emmeline's forehead. Jeanne whispered softly, "A great fashion show, honey." Jeanne winked.
"Er—thank you, Mom."
Mr. Guillaume grabbed Emmeline's body, took her from his wife, and then hugged her. "I'm really proud that God blessed me with great daughters. May success always be with you, Dear." Guillaume also kissed his daughter's forehead. "Meet Daddy at home. We'll talk at home later. Hmm." Guillaume stroked her daughter's cheek, before then walked off with Jeanne into the car, and drove off leaving Lea and Emmy.
"Emmy," Lea whispered. "I just uploaded pictures of us at dinner yesterday. Look. Why don't you want to share your happiness with your fans? After your amazing event earlier, then added to the news that you have a lover, all your fans and fans of Karfis & Vin will share it with you. Look. Many good prayers are going to you."
Lea showed Emmeline her social media page, which made Emmeline look at the photos again. Emmeline was furious to the core, but Lea's face, which was full of genuine enthusiasm made Emmeline feel helpless.
Emmeline glanced at Lea beside her. "It would be best if you asked me first before uploading all those photos, Lea," Emmeline said quietly.
The smile on Leah's face faded instantly. "Oh, Emmy. Em, what's wrong? Don't you like it?"
"Oh, no, no," Emmy argued. "I mean, um—they're pictures of me and Corbin after all. I—or Corbin need to know first, before you upload a picture of the two of us."
Lea furrowed an eyebrow. "Are you ... intending to hide your relationship with Corbin?"
Emmeline widened her eyes. She rolled her eyes aimlessly in confusion. "D-did I say that? Lea, we're talking about—"
"Ah, yes, Emmy. Sorry. You're right. After all I should have told you first." Lea looked at Emmy seriously. "I apologize."
"Oh, honey. I'm not mad. You calm down." Emmy said while forcing herself to smile. "I was just too shocked earlier." Emmy hugged Lea. Then as she hugged her sister, Emmy thought hard about how she would handle the next problem. Just pretending in front of her family was already making her short of breath. What if she had to pretend in front of everyone? Could she do all that?
