The morning in Elderville-Bryxton had brought Emmeline to her usual preoccupation. She did a lot of work, and focused on all of them. So many things to do, both inside and outside the office.
The day was creeping into the afternoon, and Emmeline was still struggling with work. Chloe Levine was in front of her, in Emmeline's room at the time.
More or less they were still discussing the media coverage the previous day, and Emmy told the truth that she was tried by her family because of the news.
Chloe smiled sympathetically. She said, "That's natural."
"Lea also briefly mentioned the conversation that almost happened with Anna after the fashion show, but it failed. It's comforting to remember that they didn't talk to each other yesterday, but that only gives a little relief. In fact, now I have to go back to preparing Anna, because my family wants to meet her."
Chloe widened her eyes. Emmeline had stood up from her chair by then. "Is that true?"
"Yeah. I'm going to the toilet for a bit. Get everything ready. We're going to an interview with The Bryxtoner after this, aren't we? I want to see Anna too after that."
"Ah, yes, fine. I will prepare everything." Chloe, moved to exit Emmeline's room.
It was the right choice for Emmeline to accept an interview request from The Bryxtoner, because not only was the media credible, but William Francois, the owner of The Bryxtoner, also gave Emmeline personal support. Emmeline's father was right, William was indeed one of the few people who often supported Emmeline. Emmy and Mr. William's relationship was quite close, and on this occasion, William stated to Emmeline, just a little oblique news will not be able to cause significant disruption.
Chloe agreed. On the way home, after the interview was over, she said to Emmeline casually, "People don't care, and they're still crazy about our products. The demand is on the rise to this day, Emmy. Young people love it, and parents are also enthusiastic about getting it for their daughters."
"I thought of making a new series with a bit of a classic touch, which will accompany this series and is intended for those who are more senior."
"Do it," Chloe chuckled. "Do whatever you want, and don't back down no matter what gets in your way."
Emmeline laughed.
They have arrived. Arriving at Chloe's yard, which looks deserted. "Is Anna resting?" asked Emmy as she got out of the car.
"Maybe. I did tell her to rest a lot."
Chloe, open the door for Emmeline. She let Emmeline in, and when Emmeline tried to find Anna in her room, she was again not there.
"Where is she?" Emmy sighed. She headed back to the garden, and sure enough, Annaliese was there.
"Miss Emmy?" said Anna surprised. "You're here? I didn't notice you coming. Sorry."
"It's okay. You're too busy daydreaming. What's wrong? Chloe said you were sick?"
"Ah, no. I'm fine. Just a little unwell, but it's getting better now. The doctor has examined me and said I just need to rest."
"And not thinking too much," continued Chloe. She came with drinks for Emmeline. Emmeline accepted and thanked her.
"Chloe's right. You shouldn't stress over unnecessary thoughts." Emmy drank the drink in her glass. She sighed after that. Anna watched her next to her.
"That slanted reporting thing, I can't help but think about it," said Anna. Still looking at Emmeline. "Miss Chloe must have told you, Miss, that all that information came from me. They turned it into bad news."
"Forget it," said Emmy.
"But I can't forget it, Miss. I'm sorry." Annaliese looked at Emmy intently. Emmy was carried away by the gaze.
"Okay. I forgive you," said Emmy casually. She looked away from Annaliese and took another sip of her drink. Anna was still watching her, with a look full of guilt. In her eyes, she felt sorry for everything she thought Emmy had experienced because of her.
"I … I'll probably go back to Italy for a while."
Emmeline was stunned for a moment. Likewise Chloe. Emmeline looked back at Annaliese.
"Em ... my exams are over. I have some time where I can relax for a while. I think I miss Aunt Aude too. And Corbin too," Anna looked sad as she said it. Emmeline and Chloe glanced at each other. "Em—I thought too, with this I can restrain myself from causing any more trouble for you all."
"Ah, I know that's the reason," said Emmeline immediately, while Chloe, sighed in approval with a lazy expression. "I know that's why you suddenly wanted to go home." Emmeline exhaled loudly. She then looked at Annaliese carefully. "Listen, Annaliese Valsecchi, no matter what happened, you don't have to worry about it anymore. It's all happened. If fate wanted it, nothing could have stopped it. No one. Neither you, nor me."
"But I still want to go home, Miss," said Anna.
"Yes. You will come home but not in such a sad state," said Emmy.
"I'll go home."
"You're stubborn, but you can't always be stubborn," Chloe interrupted.
"I'll go home—"
"Anna, listen to me," Emmy said a little loudly, then paused, feeling she was too loud.
"No, Miss. You should listen to me. Corbin asked me to come home," Anna said.
Emmy and Chloe suddenly raised their eyebrows.
"Corbin?" Emmeline repeated.
Anna nodded her head.
"Are you serious? He asked you to come home?" added Chloe.
"Yes. He called me and told me to go home." Anna restated it, then averted her gaze casually. "He said Aunt Aude missed me."
Emmy furrowed her brows. "Is that true?"
Chloe replied, "Shouldn't she be grateful you didn't make a fuss by her side, who's been sick for a while?"
"Tsk, Chloe!" Emmy asked Chloe to be quiet. But Annaliese glanced at Chloe unharmed.
"To others I might be considered a troublemaker, but make no mistake, Miss Chloe, to my Aunt I am like a princess. I am her favorite girl, whom no one can match."
"Hmm, okay," Chloe said disinterestedly.
Emmeline was still watching Annaliese intently. She wondered why Corbin suddenly asked Anna to return to Italy. Was it really because Aunt Aude missed Anna? Emmeline, sipped the drink in her glass with a thoughtful expression. On her left and right, Annaliese and Chloe were still having a small argument. Chloe tried to play tricks on Anna with her words, but Anna didn't seem to care. They both exchanged and occasionally chuckled, while Emmeline, was still thinking.
