"All right," said Emmeline. She looked at Justin mysteriously. "I'll give you a chance to prove your innocence. Two people who confessed to rioting under your orders, you have the right to interrogate them. Do whatever it takes until you can prove to me your innocence."

Justin smiled happily at Emmeline's words. "This is really a relief, Miss. Thank you. I'm sure you too must think that someone seems to be just trying to pit the two of us against each other at this point. I know you have very critical and sharp thoughts. I believe that. You're just like Vin."

Emmeline flinched for a moment when Vin's name was called, though she didn't make it obvious. Emmeline looked away for a moment. She then cleared her throat.

"Justin," said Emmy. She looked back at Justin, "can you tell me, what do you know about Vin?"

"Oh?" Justin gasped for a moment at the question. He immediately seemed to think.

"I just wanted to know how close you really are to Vin," Emmeline added. "Do you know his family? What do you know about his private life?"

Justin looked at Emmeline intently. In that gaze, there was a wandering contemplation. Justin was probably recalling his past memories of Vin. Emmeline wanted to know.

Justin sighed. "Which part should I tell you. I'm sure you know a lot about Vin. But if you want me to talk about something about him, then one thing I can never forget about Vin, is that I, once saw him fight with Howard Silas Asbluff. It happened when he was still working for Silas HA. Before he resigned. That's ... that was how my relationship with Vin started, actually."

Emmeline frowned. "Are you serious?"

"I mean, Miss Karfis, if you mean that we know each other, then it's true we know each other. But Silas HA is a big company. And we're in different divisions. I'm in Silas' jewelry and diamonds, and Vin, as you know, he was a watch designer. Silas HA's pre-eminent designer at the time. Vin was such a nice person, and he had great respect for other people. And we just stared at each other for a moment. He left after that without a word. The next day, we met at the company. Our experience the previous day couldn't be ignored, so we ended up talking to each other. Then we became close quickly."

Emmeline was still listening to Justin, while Justin was still talking.

"He never wanted to say what he had had a fight with Silas's boss. "Okay Justin, keep in mind that for the time being, you won't be doing your job at Karfis & Vin according to your title. Instead, you'll have to do an internal investigation into the matter. You don't think I'm on your side. I'm just giving you time to prove yourself."

"Thank you very much, Miss Karfis," Justin bowed excitedly. He walked Emmeline to her car, and stared at Emmeline's car with a smile until it left his house.

Emmeline, contemplating in her car while driving it. She was still contemplating her meeting with Justin, thinking about Vin, and about everything. Then also about Foxxtar's bravado. Emmeline felt as if her head was about to burst. She turned her car for a moment into a cafe. She knew she had a lot of work at the office, but she was really feeling emotionally drained.

Emmeline got off carefully after she had parked her car properly. Her tired mind made her body feel even more tired than usual. She was standing unbalanced when she had only walked a few steps after getting out of the car, and it made her sprain, but someone caught her.

"Emmeline, are you all right?"

Emmeline turned to the person holding her, and she suddenly widened her eyes in surprise.
