Emmeline sighed. They were still in the restaurant.
"Let Calvin tell you what he means when he has time. Like what he said."
"Hm," Corbin agreed. "That's the best thing to do right now. I'm grateful to have known that boy. His support for us touched me."
Emmeline smiled. She then looked at Corbin with that smile. “Your support for me has touched me too,” she said, which left Corbin pause and gasp. But Emmeline didn't seem to care about the impact her words had on Corbin. She also didn't really care about Corbin's gaze which then turned to her. She started to pick up her spoon, and ate her food.
Corbin paused for a moment. He reached out his hand to Emmeline's chin. Remove a bit of food there.
