Time had passed. Emmeline, walking with Chloe Levine, intended to go to Chloe's house to see Anna. Few employees were left of those who have a lot of work to do. Gazes full of strange smiles were again seen as Emmeline met the employees face to face. Chloe noticed it too.
"Don't worry. They're secretly congratulating you with that smile," Chloe commented.
"Shhh!" said Emmy quietly. Chloe chuckled.
They immediately drove the car to Chloe's house. After traveling for a while, they arrived.
It was dark by then. Chloe said, "Actually you could come here tomorrow. For now you rest at home."
"No. If I go home without seeing Anna, either I or Anna won't be able to sleep later."
"Or maybe both of you," said Chloe. She chuckled again. She opened the door and ushered Emmeline in. "Sit down."
"You'd better take me straight to Anna."
"Ah, fine. Let's see her in her room."
Chloe, took Emmeline to Anna's room, but when they entered the room, they didn't find Anna inside. "Where is she? Can't she just sit quietly in her room?" Chloe complained.
Emmeline smiled at Chloe Levine's exasperated babble. "She chose to walk out of the room. Is her leg okay? What did the doctor say?"
"He said there was nothing serious. She just needed a break. And as I see—maybe you agree with me too—that girl tends to easily overcome any pain."
Emmeline smiled. "You are right." She went to the window, opened the curtains a little and looked out. "I think what made her condition worse on stage earlier was her feelings of being crushed. Her mentality had fallen even before she started performing."
Chloe sighed, then expressed her agreement. "Hazel is just too much. I'll scold her tomorrow, if I have time for it. Anna doesn't want to tell me what Hazel said to her, but I'm one hundred percent sure, those are bad words because they broke Annaliese's mind. ."
Emmeline glanced at Chloe for a moment. "So where is Anna now? I better find her."
"Ah, I'll prepare a drink for you. Emmy, how about you have dinner here?"
"Okay," replied Emmy from a distance away. She had already left to look for Anna in another room, or perhaps in the garden of the house.
Emmy was right. Annaliese was in the garden. A girl who couldn't be quiet all the time. Emmeline was just starting to walk into the garden when she saw Anna, nearly falling over due to improper positioning as she descended an aluminum ladder. Luckily she had reached the last step of the ladder, and she had finally reached the ground.
"What are you doing, Anna?" Emmy held Anna's unbalanced body because one hand was holding a small cat. They almost fell together, but Emmy's footing was firm enough that she was prepared. "You just sprained your foot, and now what are you doing?" Emmy said fiercely.
"E-em, sorry, Miss Karfis," Annaliese sighed in relief. Glad she didn't have another accident. "I just took this little cat from the top of the wall earlier. She's afraid to come down." The little cat meowed, as if it understood itself being spoken of.
"Annaliese!" snapped a voice from near the door. "Whose cat is that?" Chloe, seemed to be standing with her hands on her hips.
"Oh," Emmeline said quietly to Anna, "didn't you know Chloe is allergic to cat dander?"
"Oh my gosh. Really? Oh my God. I've been looking for trouble."
Emmeline smiled in amusement at the sight.
"Come on quickly, say it! Where did you get this cat?!"
"F-from the front of the house, Miss Chloe. There was a cat sound when I was in the front room, so I came out and found this little cat meowing while looking left and right. Maybe she was looking for her mother. But when I joined in looking for her, I didn't see any other cats around this cat. Because I feel sorry, so I take this cat."
"Enough! You should know—"
"Ah, take it easy, Miss Chloe. I'll be returning this cat to its owner right away because I've managed to find the owner. Our close neighbor. Apparently she's also looking for this cat. So if you're allergic to cat dander, don't worry, because this cat will be out of this house soon." Anna said as chatty as usual. Emmy just smiled amused seeing Anna and Chloe's commotion. Meanwhile, Chloe had started sneezing.
"Hah, my head hurts listening to you. I don't care about this cat's history. I just need her out of here!"
"Ah, yes, fine, Miss. Sorry. I'll take this cat out."
"Annaaa!" Chloe screamed furiously, but her sneezing had gotten worse. "Ah, why didn't she ask me first when she wanted to bring a cat into this house when this is my house?!" said Chloe panting in the middle of her sneezes, while Anna had walked away from her.
"All right. Come on, come in. Anna is bringing the cat out." Emmeline, carried Chloe inside.
The brief commotion ended. The two of them were now sitting at the dinner table, and Anna followed later, saying that she had returned the cat. She apologized, and promised never to do it again. Emmy laughed again.
"Oh yes, Miss Emmy, I've been meaning to ask about—"
"That's enough. Let's eat first. Save any questions you have for Miss Emmeline," said Chloe.
"Ah," Anna smiled apologetically, "you're right, Miss Chloe. Even Miss Emmy looks tired. Yes. Let's eat first. Come on, let's eat."
The three of them, finished the dinner while relaxing. Anna obeyed Chloe's orders not to bring up any issues until the dinner was over, but she couldn't hold it in any longer, as the three of them had moved from the dining room to the garden to chat and rest.
Annaliese, started really asking questions about Corbin. Chloe, glanced at Emmeline, and in order to give Emmy more freedom to explain everything, Chloe said, "I'll go inside first. I need to get some things done."
Chloe left the two of them.
"You ... really want to hear an explanation from me?" asked Emmy.
"Of course, Miss. I've been looking forward to it."
Emmeline took a deep breath, before moving closer to Anna and leading her to sit down. Emmy grabbed Anna's hands. "Okay, Anna," Emmy looked at Anna with a meaningful look. "Now listen," she said.
Emmeline, explained all the stories in full to Anna. From start to finish, which made Anna comment, "That's why you never want to answer me every time I ask what steps you took to solve the emerald ring problem."
Emmeline apologized for that, saying, "It's not easy for me to talk about this matter, Anna. This should remain a secret."
"You take it easy, Miss Emmy. Do you think you can't trust me? I can keep all this a secret too."
Emmy looked at her with a smile. "Is that true?"
"Yes," said Anna. "I promise. For you and my brother."
