Chapter 5 Sydney's P.O.V It was inevitable that I didn't win the case, considering I am the best. I don't gloat about my winnings, so when Scar's boys got released, I simply nod and walked out of the court room. The last person I wanted to see stood in front of me with a livid face. I scowled and walked to him. "Why are you here?" I hissed. "I am here because you are fraternizing with the enemy." Luther hissed. I stared at him with my passive- aggressive expression. "Your point is. Last time I checked, that was my job. To get close to the suspect and let her confess to all of her crimes." I scowled at the agent in front of me. "Yes you were. That does not involve lip locking with her." He said while pointing in Scar's direction. I glanced at her and saw that she was staring directly at me with a prominent scowl. "Listen Luther, a part of being an agent, is to get as close as you can to the enemy, and that's what I'm doing. Do not tell me how to do my job." I hissed venomously. "I hope you are right Sydney, because Scar won't hesitate to kill you if she finds out." He said warningly. I scoffed and walked away from him. I seriously need to begin my paper work both at the firm and at the precinct. I walked out of the building allowing the cool breeze to swarm my face. June, the time of cool pleasant breeze in Manhattan. I walked to my car, a red Mercedes Benz, 2016 E- class edition. I hopped in and decided to go to the precinct first. It wasn't far from the court room so I arrived in approximately ten minutes. I walked into the precinct and over to the distinct table of Agent Francis. "Francis, where is my affidavit?" I asked clearly annoyed. "Good afternoon to you too." She muttered. "Listen, I have no time for your idiosyncratic ways. Get me my affidavit." I hissed. "Fine b***h. Here is your affidavit." She rolled her eyes. I snatched the paper from her. "Do you have any intel on Scar?" I asked. "No not yet. I do know that she is having a meeting tonight at twelve, with two other gang leaders. Maybe a conjoining of some sort." She said. I nod." I'll see what I can find out." "Pearson!" Maggie shouted. "Do you have to be so boisterous?" I said. "No. But its fun. Any who down to business. I need you to get some sort of Intel on that meeting Scar has. Go down to Kelly and get some software." She ordered. "And how do you purpose I do that?" I asked slightly annoyed. "You're the seductress, figure it out." She said insipid. "Okay Maggie. You were so much help." I said with sarcasm dripping from every word. "I'm glad you feel that way. Optimistic, I like it." She said pointedly. I rolled my eyes and picked up my affidavit, ready to leave to go to Kelly. "Syd," Francis called back. "What?" I hissed. "Party tomorrow night. You should come with me." She mused. "And why will I do that?" I asked confused. "Because it will be fun. You never do anything fun." She scowled. "That's because I am a double agent, along as a lawyer. I have a gang leader on my tail and quite frankly she isn't the best person to be around. So no Francis, fun is not in my agenda. Work is, anything work related make sure and give me a shout." "Come on Syd. Please for me." She said with puppy eyes. I grimaced. "Why are you impersonating a dead raccoon?" "Shut up Pearson. You're coming and that's that." She hissed. "Whatever makes you sleep at night." I muttered and walked away. I walked down to the laboratory. Kelly was sitting on a high chair, with her fingers rapidly tapping away at the computer keyboard. Her brown hair with auburn highlights fell loosely over her shoulders. Her lab coat was lily white and a tube top was neatly molded to her body. A black pants hugged her tone legs. "Hey Kelly!" She turned to me and smiled as her green eyes pierced through mines. "How can I help you darling?" She asked with her southern accent rolling of her tongue. She originally lived Tennessee, but she moved here five years ago. Her accent was still prominent. "I need a bug. Not for me, but someone else. It need to be small and the person can't know." I explained briefly. "Ohh. That's for that Scar chic." I nod in agreement and she smiled. "I got just the thing for you Lumpkin." We both walked to the back of the lab where all of the gadgets were situated. She picked a small gum-like bug. I eyed it curiously. "Just kiss her and it will disintegrate throughout her body allowing you to hear her conversations and see where and who is she speaking to." She explained. "How is that even scientifically possible?" I asked. "Its the material used. Small pixels were made edible." She explained. "This will be the best one for you." She smiled. "Thanks Kelly." I said and turned to leave the lab. I walked out of the precinct and decided to head straight to the office. I knew I was over working myself but that's what keeps me sane. I needed all the paper work and all the cases to make myself feel worthy. For four years, its been working well for me. I never once needed a break and I wasn't going to ask for one. Even though the DA practically shoves multiple vacations my way, I politely decline. I dont need any one to pity me. I love my jobs. I love being a lawyer and I love being a FBI agent. It makes me feel alive again, something I haven't felt in a while. Maybe going to the party wouldn't be that bad. I still had a date with Scar on Saturday while I might as well go to the party tomorrow night. My thoughts remained on Scar. The woman was so full of it. I totally can't stand her. She was condescending and emotionless. Well quite like me, but I played it off. She was so appalling and infuriating, I have to withdraw from shooting her every time I see her. Her voice though pleasant and irresistible, I can't see how she got it. The song she sang melted tiny fragments of my walls. The kiss sparked so many emotions through me. Her lips were gentle and soft even when we were rough with each other. Yet I still cant tolerate the woman. The evil within her heart rolls towards me like stumbling bricks. Even when I try to look past her hard demeanor, I still see only see her immoral deeds. How can one kill so many people without even a second glance? When she kill, she laughs. She reacts to it as though it was the funniest thing she ever seen. At one time I saw surveillance of her killing a dog because it crossed paths with her. She was ruthless and I will enjoy every minute of killing her. Though the question 'why is she not arrested and you have evidence' has been asked multiple times. The answer is simple. This is Scar Kenneth we are talking about. The woman has links in every part of the world. The day she is arrested, will be the day world war three will begin. At once when she was sixteen, she got arrested for the possession of m*******a. The emperor of Japan swore, war if she wasn't released. The government was not going to allow her to be the cause of innocent people deaths. Her name alone will scare any little child in the world. Scar Kenneth, the worlds most ruthless killer. Not once did she ever loose a fight. She was persistent in winning everything. Having the most dominance in everything. I pulled up to the firm and walked straight to my office. I sat down and immediately begun my paper work. I have to register the case of Scar's men also I need to issue a warrant for the search of Julio Martinez's apartment. Apparently he is beginning a small drug block. Not only is it illegal but it will also cause the death of him and his boys if Scar gets to them. Francis gave me the affidavit with all the information I need. "Mrs Pearson, your mother is on the line." My assistant Molly said shyly. I gave her a wave of dismissal and picked up the phone, mentally preparing myself for the lecture I was about to collect. "Yes mother." "When are you coming to visit Sydney?" "I have work to be done." "Can't you put it aside for one week?" "No, I can't. Its been really hectic these couple of weeks Hazel." "Fine. Your father misses you a lot Sydney." "Hazel, father died years ago. We discussed this." I sighed. "Stop lying to me Sydney. I spoke to my husband this morning." She cried. "Okay mother. Relinquish in your pity." "Sydney dear, when are you getting me grand babies." "Mother, I am not having kids." "Why not. You should get a wife and begin adopting." "Mother I'll think about it. I have a lot of work to do. I'll come visit next week." I said. "Okay. Bye now child." She said and hanged up the phone. I sighed and ran my hand through my hair. Its going to be a long day. Apart from going home and seeing that dreadful Scar Kenneth, I really love my new home. Literally I'm only living there to keep an eye on her but none the least its a really nice place. I designed it to my emotions. Black, red and chrome, lined my home. All of my furniture, walls even toilets were those distinct colours. I like my colors dark, like my soul. Unlike Scar's demeanor, her house is very bright. Her colors were green and white with little hues of yellow. It was totally nauseating. I sighed and picked up the reports from Scar's new warehouse. The one I've been too, was like a regular business office, but I saw behind that. I saw the way her assistant marked my every move. Though the black haired girl was miraculously beautiful, I didn't like her. She was too happy. I dont like joyous people. It frets me. I like people like Scar, hard and demented. ------- Hours passed since I arrived in the office. I busied myself with paper work and forms up to the brink. When I did realize the time, I packed up and went home. On opening my door to my house, there the sadistic Scar, sat on my couch. I kept a straight expression and walked over to my coffee table. I placed my folder and my handbag down and stood in front of her. "I take it that you know breaking and entering is a first degree crime." I spat. She watched me clearly amused and chuckled dryly. "I take it you know that I can kill you very easily." I raised an eyebrow at her. "Okay! Kill me then." I smiled "Before I kill you, I will love to know why were you associating with Agent Luther." She glared. "You do know that I am a lawyer, right. Therefore, I will be subjected to be speaking to all forms of authority, now," I said while glaring at her. "I'll love if you leave my house." "Sydney, Sydney. If I find out that you're double crossing me, I'll lock you to your bed and burn this house down." She spat while walking out the door. I rolled my eyes and picked up my phone. "I need tech department in my house now." I ordered. In exactly ten minutes, tech was searching for all hidden cameras and microphones in this house. "Miss Pearson, we found only two cameras and microphones." Jake said. "No, no. Scar has another one. I know it." I said while I stood up. I walked to my wine cabinet and took out a bottle of Gautier Cognac. I took out my wine glass and sat down thinking about where is the next camera. I laid back into the chair and thought about all the possible places she can put a camera. 'Hints, hints' I thought to myself. That f-cking b***h. I raised up and fled to my room. I laid on my bed and stared at my roof and as I predicted a camera was placed between my light bulbs. "John, get in here." I yelled. He came piling in my room and I showed him the camera. "Get that out from there!" I hissed. He nod and his workers got it down. I picked all of the cameras up and mics and stalked over to the b-itch's house. I knocked the door and waited to see the devil's sprawn. "Pleasure seeing you here Sydney!" The witch smirked. "I'll love to say the same about you but I'll be lying." I said boredly. "Really now!" She smirked. I shrugged and pushed her out the way. I emptied each and everyone of her hidden equipment and turned to her with a scowl on my face. "Why is this sh-t in my house?" I hissed. "Now Miss Pearson, I don't know what you're insinuating but I have no idea what that stuff is." She feigned innocence. "Oh really!" I say while taking an intimidating step towards her. "Yup!" She said while popping the 'p'. "Listen here Kenneth," I snarled. "Stay out of my house. Don't come near me or I'll personally carry you to jail myself." I snarled. "And keep your filthy, pathetic spy equipment out of my House." I hissed. "Does that mean our date is canceled!" She mused. I groaned and stormed out of her house.' f*****g asshole.'
