Chapter 1
"I don't care how you do it, I want Gus' f-cking head on my table by the time I come in the morning," I spat with venom dripping off every word.
"Yes boss," my so called 'trained assassins' muttered.
"Now get the f-ck out my office," I spat.
They nod meekly and walked out without a word.
I sent them on a simple job, yet they fail me. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.
"Scar," that familiar black hair girl walked into my office.
"Yes Jinx," I muttered nonchalantly.
"We've got problems Scar," she sighed.
"What kind of problems?" I asked angrily.
"The police had a drug bust on one of our warehouse. They got two of our men," She stated.
I groaned out in frustration. "Who was in charge of that job?" I asked.
"Jackson," she said.
"That son of a b-tch. I seriously can't have faith in any of my guys anymore." I vitriolically said.
I got up without another word and walked out my office leaving her there. I walked through the halls of my main warehouse spotting that ridiculous buzz cut.
"Jackson!" I roared.
His eyes widened at my cold glare. Then again when were these pathetic low lives not afraid of me.
"Come with me son," I smiled.
His expression changed from fear to confused then to happiness. I threw my arm around his shoulder bringing him closer to me.
I tugged at the tie that lazed my neck. The heat began to roll off the walls.
"Guess what I heard today," I smirked.
"Wh- what is that boss," he stuttered.
"I put you in charge of one of the biggest deals," I chuckled without humor. "But you made the police got the best of you," I laughed and moved from his side.
Fear evidently plastered on his face. "Boss I-" I cut him off by pulling out my gun.
"You made us loose millions of dollars, Jackson," I spat his name with spite.
"Guess what," I laughed.
"What boss?" He watched my gun.
"I don't like loosing money," I smiled and shot him between his eyes.
The gunshot ricochet off the walls. Everyone in the hall watched as his limp body fell to the floor.
I raised my hand and snapped my fingers signalling to my men to take him away.
I walked away from the halls and walked back into my office with one thing on my mind.
'How do I get my boys out of this!'
"Jinx, get me a lawyer now," I screamed at her.
She scowled and walked out my office.
I really need to get my anger in check. I killed one of my best men, because of something so silly as four million.
I ran my hand through my short black hair. I fixed my blue tie to match my black and blue suit.
"Scar, the lawyer will be here in two hours," Jinx said.
I nod and sat at my desk, letting my plague of emotions plummet out of existence.
Throughout the years this was my routine. I'll think about my f****d up life, get angry, then bury myself in paper work. It worked for the ten years I was in this business. Everyone knew once I was doing paper work, my mood was evident. Sometimes I felt pity for my goons. They never knew when I'll strike at them. Maybe that's what made me a good gang leader. Knowing that nothing can falter your emotions.
The space time continuum maybe stopped because before I knew it Jinx told me the lawyer has arrived.
I looked up from my paper work and watched as those intense gray eyes stared at me. Her expression blank showing her most prominent features as her brown hair was pinned up into a tight bun.
"Ms. Kenneth," she said while gracefully sticking her hand out for a handshake. I timidly took her hands in mine feeling the goosebumps raise on my skin.
Her hands were soft. More like pure cotton. I smiled at her and pulled my hand from her grasp.
"Jinx out now," I glared at her.
She nod and walked out my office. I turned my attention to the brunette in front of me.
"I am Counsellor Pearson, your lawyer for the time being," She said with so much class.
I nod and ushered her to have a seat. She gracefully sat while tucking her black pencil skirt under her. She moved which such elegance that it enthralled me. Her perfectly arched eyebrow raised as she intently stared at me.
I knew that look all to well, she was trying to figure me out. My stoic expression, is one that never fades. Emotions were not my field. My most prominent being either a smirk or a glare. Most people will be very lucky if they got a smirk.
"I take it that you called this meeting for that of importance and not your infatuation by me, Ms. Kenneth," she said in monotone.
I watched her intently, trying not to let the smirk falter to my lips. In all my years of being the most feared gang leader of Manhattan, not once has anyone tried to defy me.
"I take it that you understand your reason for being here," I asked her with my voice hard and menacing, just as everyone knows.
"Yes! I know of your drug bust and your two rookies getting shot," she said while looking through her folder.
"OK, I guess you know nothing then. Considering you're a well known counsellor, I thought maybe intelligence would have been your shield," I spat.
"I beg your pardon," she glared.
"OK since English maybe, wasn't your font, I said you were ignorant, wait stupid. If you want to use mediocre terms," I angrily said at her.
"I'll have you know Ms. Kenneth, I have a bachelors degree in law also in criminology and psychology. I have more intelligence than you and your little goons put together. I came here on your request to do a job and if you only want to waste my time, I guess I'll be leaving," she spat and angrily stood up.
"Sit down," I shouted.
That is when I realized this woman standing before me is my replica. Nothing faltered her gaze. Her expression stayed the same as she glared at me. Those gray eyes burning through my skin. Her secrets untold and locked up behind her thick barricades. I watched as her pink lips were glazed in a tight line.
"Sit down Ms. Pearson," I ordered calmly. She sat down with her gaze unwavering.
"You are a so called, 'lawyer'. I need you to get my boys out of prison. The evidence at bay is irrelevant. I do not care what you do, get them out by Wednesday." I sighed.
"On what grounds were they arrested," her voice cold.
"Drug slandering and possession of illegal fire arms."
"I can get them bail but till then we will need more time to execute the jurisdiction's decision," she said while writing down notes in a book.
Her calligraphy was neatly carved into the paper. Her movements goddess like.
"That's all Ms Pearson, you may leave my office," I said while leaning back into my chair.
She got up from her sitting position and walked to the door.
"Oh, and Ms Pearson, next time you defy me, I won't hesitate to put a bullet to your heart," I said coldly.
"You can't put a bullet through something that's not there," she said.
And with that the gray eyed beauty left my office. Where once again I busied myself with paper work to get away from my unrolling emotions.
"Scar," Jinx pushed her head through my door.
"Come in," I told her.
"Ohhhhh, she f****d you well," she laughed.
I glared at her with an evident smirk plastered on my face.
"She was enthralling," I glared.
"Aww, so are you going to fall in love," she gushed.
"You do know that you are my right hand man, and that of the Dripping roses," I smirked at her. "Therefore your childish tendencies should cease."
"Loosen up Scar," she rolled her eyes.
It may seem as if Jinx was just an ordinary goon in this business but she is more than that. At the times when I was at my worst, she was always there for me. Not only was she my right hand man but also my best friend.
She understood me out of all the rest. She was my only family other than Malik.
My brother some how thinks that its his job to stay at my house and eat my food.
He was once the head king of this gang and he can bathe himself in gold. But being a miser is never good. He saved all his money, and lived with me.
In our relationship, I was the big sister, while clearly he was the older one. With age bestows knowledge, someone once said. With Malik that statement was nothing more than a sheer fantasy.
As he got older he got dumber. Dumb things which caused turmoil and anguish within my heart. Yet I couldn't hate him. I still loved him even when my mind kept telling me to end him. I couldn't though, as I watched as my brother buried himself in heart wrenching sobs.
I clenched my jaw and pushed those memories behind my mind.
"Earth to scar," Jinx yelled. I glared at her and she chuckled nervously.
"As I was saying, the party Friday night. Are you down?" She beamed.
"Jinx, are you sure you're speaking to Scar Kenneth, Dripping roses leader and bestowed." I smirked.
She nod her head. "Yes I am. You need to loosen up Scar. When was the last time you got laid," she smirked.
"I don't have time for silly rendezvous of women in my bed. I have a gang to run and so far nothing has been running smoothly," I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"Leave the gang business behind Scar. Only for one night, you won't regret it," she smiled.
I knew accepting her proposal will be the death of me but I withstand those feelings and accepted. I watched as she beamed and ran out my office. I chuckled at her eagerness.
"Oh and Scar, wear casual," she smiled.
I glared at her and she ran out my office. I sighed and continued with my paper work.
Somehow between me frowning at the clock for moving so slow and doing paper work, my mind ran back to that gray eyed beauty.
Sometimes I hear her words echoing in my mind.
'You can't put a bullet in something that's not there.'
The meer thought of putting a bullet in her made me frown. Something about her eyes drawed me to her.
Her beautiful eyes were now permanently etched in my mind. Either it will break me or make me.
