Chapter 15
The clicking sounds of my laptop echoed throughout the square office room in which I sat, my fingers worked frivolously as I rapidly typed, trying to push the guilt away. What I was meant to be doing was writing a plea, for a judge to file a warrant for Scar's arrest. I hated doing it, so I just put it off for as much time as I possibly could.
I just couldn't do these things to Scar.
Since our very odd previous encounters, I found myself thinking of the woman more and more. I couldn't emphasize on the vast amounts of mindless s*x I had with Kelly just to imagine it was the raven haired beauty. I think I even moaned Scar's name once but Kelly didn't seem to notice.
I began to dress differently, my brown hair was let loose, I wore light grey eye-shadow to complement my eyes, red lipstick and little powder.
I didn't even know why I wanted Scar so much. I was infatuated with her. Infatuated with a target.
"You know with a sexy look like that, I'll give you anything in the world." A familiar voice called, I jumped in shock, quickly closing my laptop screen shut.
"Scar," I greeted her, rising from my seat. "What are you doing here?"
"Lunch! I know you don't have a car. You thought I was gonna leave you hungry?" She smirked.
"No... " I frowned, "But you didn't have too."
"I wanted too. Now come on!" She grabbed my purse and hooked it under her arm. I laughed at how funny she looked.
"Look at you with a purse, you oh so feminine, you!" I laughed.
"I am a girl you know."
"Yeah? Sometimes I forget." I smirked. She frowned and held my hand.
I hesitated for a moment and she seemed to notice, considering the hand she ran through her hair, somehow she still formed a smile. As much as I liked Scar, I hated contact. "I'm not the touchy type... " I reminded her.
"Sorry about that!"
"It's fine."
We drove to a nearby diner and got out. She still had my bag on her shoulder. As we walked in and sat down, a waiter came to our table. He looked young, maybe early twenties. "Good afternoon. May I take your order?" He smiled.
"I'd like a glass of wine and a whole wheat croissant. No cheese." I smiled. I was almost surprised when he wrote down my order, for a diner, they had some nice foods.
"You're drinking wine now?" Scar asked, "Don't you have an afternoon of work left?"
"I grew up with snobby parents, Scar. One glass of some cheap grocery wine won't give me head."
Truth is, it would. The shitier the wine, the more inebriated one could get.
"I find a woman who drinks wine very sensual." I looked up at the young man, just to see him flipped his bangs out of his eyes and winked.
"You'll also find a reduce in your tip." I frowned and Scar smirked.
"See if we can get free lunch?" She whispered in my ear. "Show some cleavage. " I slapped her arm and she frowned.
"What? At least I tried." She whined and gave her order.
"You're so cheap for a millionaire." I commented.
"Billionaire!" she corrected, "and money doesn't grow on trees, princess." She said pointedly.
"Right. But what's a few bills?"
"Bankruptcy." she smirked, motioning to the youth to leave, which he did. To no surprise.
"How have you been, Scar?" I asked.
She looked taken back for a moment but she leaned forward, folding her arms on the table and giving me a smile that was filled boyish charm. "Fine, Sydney. I've been just fine."
I creased my eyebrow at first, assuming she was being sarcastic but a while after I realised that Scar Kenneth was being sincere towards me, Sydney Pearson. Queen b***h.
"That's good." I replied softly before I sat back in my chair.
However, our eyes didn't separate, not for a second and neither of us dared to say a word. It wasn't awkward, it wasn't threatening. It was one of those moments where you could comfortably sit in silence with another person, where nothing could be said but everything could be felt.
Then she smiled, she gave me that daring smile again, the one that made my heart flutter and my breath to heave but of course, this only came of as a look of confusion.
"What is it?" I asked.
"You're rubbing my thigh with your foot..."
I swallowed, having not realized. I was sure that my face was beet red and my foot had stopped all motion completely. So much for not awkward.
"I'm sorry, Scar." I spoked but before I could pull my foot away, her hand had found it.
"Leave it right there." She ordered. I couldn't bring myself to not comply but all the same, I wished I could pull it away.
This event was directly applicable to my situation, my foot was my heart, Scar had a grip on it and it was all because I had put it there without thought, she had a grip on me and I couldn't get out and furthermore.... I was in love with Scar Kenneth.
I was staring, grey eyes to green with the woman I loved. The woman that was making me choose between love and justice.
--------
After I dropped Sydney back to work, I went back to the warehouse. I had a meeting with my main men today about José Martinez's drug trade, in my streets.
"Scar!" Jinx called. I nod at her and the rest of the men walked in.
"Hey boss!" They muttered.
"As you know, José is running a drug trade." I begun, "we are going to surprise their little drug block."
"How are we doing that?" Jinx asked.
"Okay! Let me explain. The governor wants me to take over New York. In order to do that, I need to get rid of any enemy gangs."
"So we need to eliminate José's gang." Aviolo said.
"Exactly. So next week Friday, we go to them and kill them off. From there, the governor and I will send a message to the mayor, stating that I've taken over the city."
"But what if that plan backfires?" He asked.
"It won't. I'm only taking you guys into the house. Twenty other men will handle the outside, in case of police or other gang members."
"I like that plan but, what will they do if the police do come?"
"Its simple, run like f*****g hell or shoot." I laughed. They all laughed and we continued planning for that night.
I retired my men for the rest of the day because they all looked tired. Some have been up since last night because of some shipping for drugs. So far my best drug trade is with the Columbians. Their m*******a is top of the chart and so is their coke.
I glanced at the clock and realized its time to pick up Sydney. I grabbed my keys and walked out of the office.
"Hey Scar!" I turned to Jinx.
"Yeah kid."
"I'm going to the precinct."
"Why?" I asked.
She scratched the back of her neck and smiled cheekily. "Well you see, I've met this girl, but she's a detective."
"Jinx, I hope you know what you're doing. Cause if she jeopardize our plan, it'll be on you." I warned.
"I promise Scar." She beamed and hugged me. I tensed but pat her back any way.
"I really like her you know. I think she's the one." She beamed.
"Well I'm happy for you." I smiled.
I nod at her and walked away. I got in my car and drove to the firm. Sydney stood outside with a nerve shattering frown. I sighed loudly and parked in front of her.
"Ten f*****g minutes Scar. Ten!" She yelled.
"I'm so sorry Sydney, I had a meeting and I got caught up." I sighed while opening the door for her. She sat in the car and fold her arms over her chest.
"Sydney!" I whispered and moved a stray tendril of hair out of her face. I moved the pad of my thumb over her cheeks and caressed it slowly.
"Baby!" I whispered, "how long are you going to stay mad at me?"
"As long as I feel like!" She frowned.
"What should I do for you to forgive me?"
"Hmm.... I want you to cook me food and bake me cookies." She beamed.
"Very well then. Let's go." I smiled. I start the car and drove out the carpark.
"What kind of cookies do you want?" I asked.
"Oatmeal with pecans." She said.
"You have a weird ass taste in cookies." I laughed.
"Its healthy Scar. And when are you going to tell me your real name?" She asked.
"Maybe, never!" I laughed.
"So what if we get married and have its' are you not going to tell me?" She frowned.
"Its'?" I asked.
"I call children its." She stated like its the most normal thing in the world.
I laughed and pulled up at the supermarket. "Why are we here?" She asked.
"Because, I don't eat healthy. The healthiest thing in my house is weed and that's cause its green. So let's go." I walked out the car and opened her door.
"Can I hold your hand?" I asked.
She frowned but wrapped my arm around her waist instead. I smiled down at her while walking through the doors. She looked up and blushed. I laughed and grabbed a trolley. We both walked through the isles picking up nothing at all.
"Where is the oatmeal isle?" I asked.
"How the hell will I know?" She frowned. I shrugged and walked further into the store.
"Ah oatmeal!" I shouted. She laughed and picked up a bag of oatmeal. We walked again and saw the pecans.
We got all the things we needed for the cookies and we walked up to the cashier. "Oh my god, Scar!" The cashier beamed.
I laughed and held Sydney tighter to me. She eyed my hand and frowned. "Is she your girlfriend?"
I stared at Sydney and smiled. We both locked gazes and smiled at each other. I stared into her deep gray pools and smiled harder. I'm so lucky to be holding this beautiful woman in my arms. Even though we got off on a rough start, she brought out the best in me. In that moment while staring at her I realized I loved Sydney. I am in love with Sydney Pearson.
"No," I begun, "she's the love of my life."
-------------
"Sydney, do not touch the cookies." I warned.
"Or what!?" She smirked. She grabbed a cookie and dashed out of the kitchen. I ran after her and laughed. She dashed through the theater and ran to the laundry room. She jumped into the basket duct and pulled the lever up. I rushed back upstairs and saw her coming out of the duct. I grabbed her by her waist and pinned her to the floor. "I told you no cookies!" I laughed.
She pout and crossed her arms. "No fair! Its my cookies."
"It was hot." I laughed.
She pout even harder and I smirked. "Gimme kissey!" I beamed.
I placed my lips gently on hers and sighed. She wrapped her hands around my neck and deepened the kiss. I sat up with her straddling my hips, with my hands gripping to the side of her waist. She moaned and I smirked.
"Stop smirking!" She warned. I chuckled and she pushed her pink flesh into my mouth. Her tongue wrapped around mines and sucked gently. I moaned and it was her turn to chuckle.
I grabbed her butt firmly in my hands and squeezed. She grind on my hips and wrapped her hand into my hair.
"Scar!" She moaned.
"Yes princess!" I asked while resting my forehead against hers.
"Do you really love me?"
"I do! I love your lips and your voice. I mostly love your eyes and your attitude. I love your soft side and your dominating side. I love your passion for you job. I love how you never give up and the things you want. I love everything about you. I loved waking up to you wrapped in my arms, the morning after the party. I love how jealous you get when women stare at me. I love that you can handle yourself in a fight, even a gun war. I love everything about you Sydney. You're my princess and I'll never let anything happen to you." I smiled. She stared at me intently then kissed my lips.
"I'm not sure of my exact feelings for you. But I know I like you a lot Scar. Those past months without you have been the worst of my life. I hated every second not seeing you, not hearing your sensual voice. I hated it all Scar." She whispered.
"So what do we do now?" I asked.
"I don't know. I don't love Kelly Scar."
"I know!"
"But I can't leave her." I removed my face from hers and frowned.
"Why not?"
"Because, she loves me Scar. And I can't just tell her, we're over because I want to be with a Sexy, gang leader." She frowned.
"When will you end it Sydney?" I sighed.
"I'll end it soon."
"You promise!" I asked.
"I don't make promises Scar. Never once made a promise."
"Its Makada!" I said.
"What?" She asked confused.
"My real name, its Makada!"
She snickered and I frowned. "What?"
"So feminine!" She laughed.
"Shut up Pearson."
"You love me!" She beamed.
"Yeah I'll unlove you if you continue!" I warned.
"Whatever!" She muttered and kissed my lips.
"What's that smell?" She wiggled her nose and gasped.
"Scar, the food!"
Oh s**t!
