THE PLAYGIRL

CHAPTER ONE.

Celina came out of the bathroom, putting on a bathrobe she sat on her bed... "I should tell Vera to get ready too" she said to herself then picked up her phone and placed a call.

"Hey, what's up" She said

"It's quite early to call someone, don't you think? Vera asked over the phone.. "Come on, don't tell me you forgot" Celina asked sounding surprised..."What's there to forget? Did we make any plans? asked Vera

"Shopping" Celina reminded her "you promised to help me pick a few things since my wedding is in two days" Celina explained.."don't tell me you really forgot" she added..

"I have been busy, that's it," Vera replied..." But you could at least make out time, we are best friends" Celina said sounding disappointed.."I'm really sorry baby girl, I promise to make it up to you" Vera said. But didn't get a reply

"Come on, are you gonna stay angry at your bestie? Vera asked. "Is a guy right? Celina finally spoke up... "You don't think I will push my best girl aside for a guy...tell me noo" Vera asked sounding angry.. "No, I won't dare think such, Enjoy your day" Celina said "I can manage" she added..

"I love you" Vera shouted happily.. "I love you too, bye" Celina replied then hung up.

"It's just so bad that I don't have friends, I only got her, now I have to manage on my own" She muttered to herself and stood up to dress..

As Celina got to her car, she recalled something..."it won't be a bad idea to call Idris, his my fiance..he will help" She said as she pulled out her phone and placed a call. She tried his number severally but no response.

"I should try his Assistant's number" she called idris Assistance.

"Hello ma" the person on the other line said.."I'm calling to know if you are with Idris" Celina said.. "No ma, we don't have anything to do for today" said the assistant "No Appointments, No Business lunch? She asked to Clarify "None" he replied..

"Thank you" she said, then hung up and tried Idris' number..

"Finally, you picked" she heaves a sigh "How are you doing? He asks "Not fine at the moment" She replied "Can you come out for a bit and help me out with shopping for a few things" Celina asked.. "Babe I could have come but I have an appointment" Idris replied

"James said your schedule is clear, no meeting, no business lunch too" she replied boldly "Are you monitoring me now? He asks in surprise.. "Come on, I couldn't get hold of you so I had to call him" she replied but got no response..

"I'm sorry, it won't happen again" She said in a low voice. "It's fine" He replied.. "to show how sorry..I am, you can take the day off and rest up, I can manage on my own" She replied.. "thanks babe" He replied

"I love you much" she said "I love you just as much" he replied..she smiled and hung up.

She frowned when the call ended..."I really can't manage on my own" she said to herself. Looking frustrated, I then drove off and headed to the mall.

{ Idris Apartment}

He walks to the kitchen and holds Vera on the waist.."I told her off, so we can spend some quality time" he said.. "You did a good job" she replied, smiling at him

"So, what are you making? He asks "Sauce?" She said, they laughed together.

On reaching the mall, she meets an old schoolmate at the entrance.. "Look, who we have here " Emily Jackson said, pulling off her glasses to take a good look at Celina... "We aren't close enough for greetings, it's best we pass" Celina said about walking in but Emily blocks her way..

"Is this how you say Hello to an old school mate? She asks.."So how have you been? It's been 7 no, is it 10 years since we met" Emily asked laughing "I really can't seem to recall it's been a long while" she added "you haven't changed one bit, still with that arrogant look and character" she continued.. "What's the main thing you wanna know Emily?" Celina asks in folded hands.

"Alot...how is it with Idris, you guys were lovers back in high school." She said smiling "I heard your marriage is in two days, you must be happy..finally you are getting married to him after the long years of dating" Emily said ... "I guess you are the one doing the talking, I will listen then" Celina said

"I will ignore that attitude of yours," Emily said, smiling. "But there is one thing I wanna know. How do you feel having your boyfriend's ex as a best friend? Emily asks "Come on girl, you really are daring" she commented.... "How do you manage, I recall when Vera and Idris were a thing, they went to the extent that high school kids shouldn't" Emily said laughing hard "that face" Emily said pointing at Celina's face.. "that's the look of someone getting pissed off, are you gonna hit me? Emily asked with a scared look then laughed.. "You are a psycho," Celina said, about entering the mall.

"One advise my friend before we part" Emily cut her off in her steps. She put on her glasses then said "Ex's are very dangerous, beware of her. They might actually be enjoying themselves somewhere ""maybe that's why you came shopping alone" Emily added then walked out.

"If not that times have changed, I would have given her a great beating" Celina said then entered the mall.
