Author’s Note
Obviously, this is a work of fiction. . . . Or at least, it is in my world. I’ve never seen or talked to a ghost, and to be honest, I’m not sure what I really think about their existence . . . although I do watch all the ghost shows like Mary and Josephine.
But the historical events that prompted these stories, they are as real and historical as it gets. The specific events in these three books are fictional creations of mine, but they are based on real-life stories and experiences that I’ve studied in my work as a historian. Moses’s, Charlotte’s, and Sarah and Bo’s stories could very easily have happened, and sadly, similarly terrible events did occur.
