Chapter 5: Seeking Strength

on his way to the house, william noticed Marcus training his spear techniques with dedication so he waved at him and called him over, When marcus got to william he was confused as he didn't recognize the person who called him over but william quickly solved that "i see you're training hard marcus, good thing i didn't forget your present, but before that did you do as you promised" "I'm sorry mister but i don't remember meeting you before" "Oh! could it be you don't recognize your own big brother, but i guess it makes sense i did change a lot on this trip" Marcus looked shocked after putting everything together as he hugged his older brother " i knew you sounded like big brother, so it really was you everyone missed you a lot big sister and big brothers also arrived yesterday, so now we can have a big family reunion hehe" William told marcus of his trip to the swords mountain as they walked towards the main house.

Inside the house.

the family were all sitting around a table talking when Marcus ran in yelling "big brother is home everyone" William walked in after marcus with a smile on his face as he was seeing his siblings for the first time in 2 years "i hope you've all been well" william stood there with his arms wide open and a smile on his face as his older sister Anna ran into his arms "my little hero has gotten so big, your big sis has missed you lots in this time" followed by his mother "Unfilial son why did it take you so long to come back you made both me and your father worry" and his two older brothers also joined the group hug "You've gotten so tall already little bro" "he seems stronger too" William's father heard the commotion and ran into the house walking in on this scene of his family full of happiness he couldn't help but shed tears of joy as he also joined the hug "Welcome home Son just know I'm proud of you for making the journey no matter the end result".

William brought out a small egg along with a seed like object and handed them to his mother "this is a fairy egg of the nature attribute so it'll protect and heal you whenever you need it as for this seed it's a low level Spirit tree seed for the Fairy to live in once she hatches" william's mother was surprised as tames are some of the most expensive things you can buy "You didn't have to, Will, but this is too expensive for a gift " william wasn't having it as he placed the egg and seed in her hands " You deserve this and way more mother, and i'll feel better knowing you have a little protector with you at all times hehe" william's mother finally accepted the gifts as william walked over to his One armed father james and pulled out a Big crate with the symbol of a famous blacksmith on it, but before William could even explain his father talked over him " William, about my gift i don't need it no matter what it is it would be wasted on your cripple father so just sell it and keep the money" William laughed out loud as if he had just heard the funniest joke ever "Hahahahaha!, Father, if you're a cripple then there really are no men left in the world, and about your gifts i won't be taking no for an answer since i spent the most time and money on them and they couldn't be wasted on you even if you wanted to" William cracked the crate open before pulling two objects out of it one by one as he explained "This is a custom made Bionic arm made by the Dwarven blacksmith "Giddeon flame" a well known blacksmith so it should be the perfect replacement for your arm, try it on right away and see how it fits" as james put on the bionic arm made from bluemoon steel and it integrated with him he pulled out the other item "the arm fits perfectly but i'm sure this'll fit even better in your hands" william threw a Dark blue longsword at his father, but his father used his new hand to catch it swiftly, and as he moved his hands around the blade tears went down his cheeks as he muttered "i-it's my s-sword "Fang of the blue sky" h-how did you...." william was proud as he explained "i had to go to three auctions and a den full of thieves before finally finding it on the Black market, but i guess it makes sense since an Awakener's sword is illegal to sell as it is irreplaceable because it allows its owner to level up Anyways you should take your time to get used to the new arm " William's father hugged him as tears overwhelmed him "Thank you, William, i'm sorry for letting our family fall into debt and for not being able to give all of you everything you wanted" william hugged his father strongly "the things in the past were never your fault we all know you tried your best and gave us the best lives we could of asked for, and i'm sure everyone here would agree" the whole family hugged their father as they all agreed "it's been hard on you all these years Dear" "You gave us all we wanted dad" "i couldn't ask for a better father" "yeah dad you even taught me to use the spear" "you made us all into the men we are today" "you don't have to be sorry, you're the best dad ever" After that the family reunion dinner continued normally.

William woke up after sleeping for a long time the first thing he did was take a shower brush his teeth and put on his clothes before walking out into the living room.

William was now a middle aged man Walking through a forest, the man walked and walked and walked until Finally he got out of the forest But suddenly every Tree in the forest was cut in half Causing a huge dust storm but even the dust storm was blown away by cuts through the air suddenly the middle aged man started laughing like Maniac "hahahahaha! finally i've achieved Sword Intention after walking through this forest for 15 years, I can finally Cut down that accursed tree" The middle aged man Then walked up to the only tree left standing in the forest And put all his strength into his sword causing it to turn Purple from the energy, He then Cut the tree with all his strength, the ground cracked and the wind went into chaos but Alas the tree was standing there without a scratch on, The middle aged man's Sword was the opposite as It broke into countless pieces but instead of anger the middle aged man only had a look Understanding on is face he then spoke With tears slowly going down his cheeks "i-i can see it the realm higher than my own, my path of the sword was wrong from the start.to become a sword master is to not Unsheathe your sword unless a branch off the ground is not enough to cut down your enemy, I Must start over from the start so i can achieve mastery" the middle aged man picked up a random branch he saw on the floor and he started to put his Sword energy into it until it turned to dust, he patiently did this for a long time with one goal in mind to Contain all of his energy into a random branch of the floor without it being affected.

45 YEARS LATER.

William was starting to get bored but the memories once again skipped 45 years, The old man finally achieved it, he Contained All of his Sword energy that was now Incomparably more powerful In a brittle branch he picked up off the floor And With a slight upward swing the Winds went into chaos and The clouds split leaving a Cut in the middle of the sky but the now 105 year old man looked Exhausted and started to cough out blood but on his face only pure happiness could be seen "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!I might be on the verge of death but i'll definitely cut down this Accursed tree and Ascend" The old man then got into position and prepared to end his life goal ,Lightning struck all around and It rained an ocean The winds had already turned into tornados that spiraled cracking the ground, To Ryuma kane this was proof the heavens were angered and Threatened ,one last time he Smiled and struck with his all, everything was unclear since even though the Earth was rended and the heavens were split but that one tree Still stood there in superiority, William was now seeing this world in third person, the old man had already passed but he was still there standing with the branch in hand, when william looked at his face he found that the old man was Smiling from ear to ear Suddenly the old man's Standing dead body turned to Stone becoming an unmoving statue with the happiest smile on his face, a Golden light in the shape of the old man came out of the statue and said one last word this time to William! "Hopefully this old man's wasted time will help you Save yours" While william was shocked out of his mind the Golden light Disappeared into the heavens, william was confused "i didn't know he could see me other than that, what just happened was clearly Ascension, but didn't the old man Say he would only Ascend if he Managed to cut the tree, And the tree is still there standing Towering over all of humani-" Before william could even finish talking the Whole world stopped the rain in mid air the lightning froze the Tornados Stopped in their tracks Everything was deathly Silent suddenly the world Completely lost color becoming black and white ,Everything was frozen soundless and colorless until Suddenly the giant towering Tree split in half soundlessly and then split again and again and again Continuously until Nothing was left, The tree had turned to dust leaving nothing behind, But then the dust all gathered at one spot in space before taking the Shape of a woman in a green dress the woman said a few words while smiling but since the world was colorless and soundless william could only lip read a few of the words "i have finally found a master to serve" is what william understood, the woman then returned to dust and Flew into the heavens like the old man before her seemingly Following him.

The whole world then turned black and william woke up back in the store, but before he could even think the Robotic voice rang out

15 minutes Later.
