LUKAS’S POV The first rays of sunlight streamed through the tall windows of my bedroom, pulling me from the restless haze of sleep. My body ached, the ever-present toll of my course gnawing at my strength, but the moment I opened my eyes, my thoughts were already on her. Selenea. I sat up slowly, running a hand through my disheveled hair as the thought of her brought a warmth to my chest that rivaled the sun itself. The house was quiet, save for the faint chirping of birds outside. Normally, I would have turned over and stolen another hour or two of sleep, but not today.
