Dark Trickery

1808 Words
Vlad’s P.o.V. I was dreaming, I knew that much. I was standing alone in a very dark room, but I didn’t feel alone. It was as if the dark itself was alive, solid. I felt as though I couldn't breathe, the unsavory darkness warranting panic. “Is anyone there?” I called and cringed as soon as the horror movie, stereotypical words left my mouth. But I didn't have long to dwell on it as the darkness itself seemed to shift around me. “Vladimir Tod, is it?” A voice asked, seemingly right in my ear. I swatted out at it as breath on my ear sent shivers through my body. But I didn't make contact with anything.  “Diablo? Is that you?” I snarled in response. I wouldn't put it past the manipulative bastard to invade my dreams and try to terrorize me. “I am the one known as Pitch.” The voice replied, ghosting past me, a strangely solid feeling hand brushing intrusively against my side. “What do you want from me?” I asked, jerking away from the touch.  “I need you to do something for me.” The voice said with an almost hissing sound to it. “Kill Jack Frost.”  “I can't do that...he...doesn't exist!” I lied quickly as the demand met my ears. How the hell did this person expect me to kill a spirit. He was already dead.  “Oh, he exists. I saw your little lip lock. You know him all too well. I know you, Vladimir Tod. I know your worst fears and your weaknesses. Kill him and I'll spare that ditzy Aunt of yours. You live so openly, have so many people around you, all canon fodder. So kill him, Vladimir, or I will ruin all you care for.” the voice hissed and I jolted upright in bed, coming away from the nightmare soaked in sweat, with a scream. A quick inspection of my room revealed that I was alone. I wiped the sweat from my forehead with my sleeve and kicked my feet off the bed.  “It was just a nightmare. No one wants me to hurt Jack and I won't hurt him.” I said to myself as I leaned over, licking my lips. I wince when my fangs cut my tongue. Why did nightmares always leave me feeling peckish? I stood up with a tired groan and snuck out my bedroom door to the kitchen for a little midnight snack or rather 4 AM snack. My thoughts were on the snow spirit as I sat at the kitchen table, sipping at reheated, freezer burnt O+. He was so beautiful it was hard to believe he returned my feelings. From his ice blue eyes to his perpetually frosted blue hoodie, he was absolutely perfect. His skin was cold but his blood had been like fire on my tongue. Just being with him felt right and I'd only known him for a day.  *******       I reluctantly got up when Aunt Nelly called that breakfast was ready, exhausted from the nightmares that had plagued me throughout the night, shadows grabbing at me, tearing at my flesh, groaning at me and demanding I kill Jack. It was a horrible night and to make it all worse, I had school today.       I got dressed and headed down for breakfast, working in autopilot as I ate. Aunt Nelly looked at me with concern but was running late for her shift and had to rush out the door. I was grateful that she hadn't been able to pry. Once I was done eating, I grabbed my backpack and started the walk toward school, knowing Henry wouldn't be joining me due to still being out of town. I pulled up my hood and buried my hands in my pockets, shivering softly as I walked by myself.      Suddenly something smacked me hard in the back of my head and crumbled. A snowball. I groaned, looking around for fear that it was Bill and Tom. Then, my eyes fell on a smirking Jack, balancing atop his staff behind me. “Not funny!” I exclaimed, bending to ball up snow in my own hands and throwing it at him. He dodged it, coming down from his staff. “It was very funny. I missed you.” He said softly as we carried on walking.  “I missed you too, Jack.” I replied, reaching out to take his hand as we walked.  “Are you hungry?” He asked after we'd walked in silence for a couple moments. I stopped, the mere mention making my fangs sharpen. But I shook my head and started walking again. “No no. I had some bagged stuff with breakfast.” I excused. I knew he could tell something was off with me, but he hadn't questioned me yet. I hoped he didn't. I didn't want to think about the nightmares or the fact that he smelled absolutely delectable today. “Alright. Want to meet after you're done with school? I'd love to play some more games with you.” He said as we reached the front steps of the school. The way he said it sounded like a double entendre. I blushed faintly and pulled him in for a hug.  “Definitely. I'll see you after school.” I said, breathing in his scent. Though it tortured me so, it would help me through the school day without him. I drew back to head inside but he yanked me back against him and kissed me. It was far from the chaste kiss we’d shared the night before and left me blushing as he released me and flew off on the wind with a hearty grin.       The late bell shook me from my revelry and I rushed to class, my lips still tingling with the taste of the snow spirit on my tongue. Not even Bill and Tom's pestering could bring me down from the high Jack had left me with.  Jack's P.o.V       Something seemed off with Vlad this morning. He had bags under his eyes like he'd hardly slept and he'd been so quick to refuse my offer to feed him. He must still be beating himself up over having attacked me. I couldn't let him keep wallowing in it when it wasn't his fault. I'd have to get him feed tonight. Even if it meant pinning him down. Why did that thought excite me so? It had only been a day and I already felt as if we'd been together for years. He was just so beautiful. With his dark hair and the way his eyes went purple when he fed. He was just perfect.  ********* Vladimir's P.o.V.       When school got out, Jack was nowhere to be found. He must have just went home, or perhaps he was busy doing whatever it was that snow spirits did. It had snowed all day after all, so perhaps that had been his doing. I just started the trek home, walking faster than usual in hopes of seeing him sooner.    “Jack?” I called as I stepped into the house, hanging up my coat and kicking off my shoes. Jack appeared from the living room, smiling brightly and holding up the controller. “I got it started by myself this time.” He murmured playfully, seeming eager as he pushed me into the living room and onto the couch. “You must really like playing the game.” I said with a laugh, reaching for the other controller. But then suddenly Jack pushed me back hard against the couch and straddled my lap, easily pinning me in my shock. “W-what are you doing?” I asked, startled by the sudden and rough positioning. “Stop beating yourself up about feeding on me. You look exhausted! I want you to feed from me again, Vlad. I don't want you to keep be upset about it. It makes me happy, knowing that you need me, that I'm something real enough to give this to you. So please….feed…but try not to get blood on the hoodie. North asked questions I couldn't answer.” He said, his lap shifting in my own and making me groan. The position was so exciting, then he threw the thought of feeding into the mix. “Jack. I wasn't beating myself up about that...I just had a rough night. Nightmares and such.” I told him, prying my eyes from his neck.  “Then why did you refuse it this morning? I can read it in your eyes when you want it, Vlad. I know when you're lying to me.” Jack said, leaning in and kissing me as if he couldn't resist the urge to.  “Just because I want it, doesn't mean I need it, Jack. I'm not controlled enough to just casually take your life blood. I could really hurt you. Even...kill you…” I choked out, blushing deeply as he scent wafted around me from his close proximity.  “I'm immortal, Vlad. Please...I like it when you bite me...so please…” He pleaded, leaning in and kissing my chin. Then, tucking my face against his neck. I groaned as his scent filled my nose and his pulse beat against my lips. “M-Maybe a little...won't hurt…” I heard myself say, my fangs throbbing as they slid into place. I bit down, hearing him moan lowly and feeling him wrap his arms around me. I trembled softly as his blood spilled across my tongue and down my throat. It tasted so good, so perfect as I took the first couple gulps.         Jack's moans reached my ears as he ground down against my lap. We were both excited as I fed from him, both of us hard as we ground against each other through our clothes.  “Kill him!” Came that all too familiar voice in my head and I jerk back away from Jack, shoving him over onto the spot next to me, panting as my erection waned. Jack looked at me startled and breathless.  “Vlad...its okay. Did we go too far?” He asked quietly, his expression full of concern as he caressed my face.  “No...no...I just...was losing control...I'm sorry.” I said softly, kissing his palm softly.  “It's alright. Let's just play the game.” He murmured gently, kissing me softly as if the taste of his blood wasn't still on my tongue.  “Yeah...Jack, I love you...I just really want you to know that, okay.” I said, kissing him back, blushing as his tongue laved against mine. Our tongues twisted and danced as we made out. “I think I love you too.” He replied, kissing me again before pulling his hoodie off. Then he kissed me again, gentle and loving as he laid back on the couch, pulling me down on top of him to continue kissing me. “Vlad! I'm home!” Aunt Nelly called and I sat up quickly, blushing hotly. Looking down at Jack, I found him blushing too.  “Later, Vlad. Let's just play the game. No more distractions.” He murmured, sitting up and pulling his hoodie back on. I nodded, sitting back and getting my controller. We played the video game after that until Aunt Nelly and Otis called me for dinner. I kissed Jack goodbye and he promised to meet me in my room for a more heartfelt goodbye.
