What?!!!!

“Sorry I did not get that,” I asked, stunned.

“ I am going to be offering you a deal, we just have to get married,” he said.

“We are going to get married, and you will give me an heir. “In return, I will pay you five-hundred thousand pounds.” He finished.

I choked. Out of nowhere, a stranger was asking me to marry him.

Why would I do that?? Wait! Are you crazy? I said to myself five-hundred thousand pounds!! That is a lot of money, but I don’t even know this guy. What if it’s a lie or a prank?

“You want to say something?” he asked.

“I don’t even know your name,” I said. “Well you will when you sign an NDA,” he said.

Lol sign an NDA??? I don’t even know this guy. That’s enough for today. I had a job to get back to.

“Well, that won’t be happening because I don’t know you and who knows if I am signing away my life.” I ranted and proceeded to stand up.

“ I am dying,”he said, which made me halt for a moment. “What?!!” I said. How can a Greek god like this die?? His eyes goshhhh, his perfectly sculpted face, but why me???

He is dying?? What?? I remember when my mother refused treatments so I could use the savings for college. It was a dark time for me.

I see why he wants an heir, but this was a lot. I don’t even know the guy!! Let alone marry him and have a child. I have always wanted to have my child someday, but not with a stranger. Well, this stranger is dying….

“ Can I think about it atleast,” I said.

“Yes, you have this week to do that.” He said, “I will be in touch.” He said as he stood up.

He dropped me back at the inn and just like that he was gone.

“Girllllllllll, who is that man!!” Hailey asked very excitedly. I explained all that had happened to her.

“Are you going to do it??” She asked, giving me a worried look.

“I don’t know Hailey, I am going to think about it, I am not sure.

“ Who knows? Whatever your decision is, I stand with you and I will be on the lookout for you too. She assured. “Thank you love.” I hugged her.

I have always dreamt of marrying for love, but life presents me with a contract marriage, a marriage in name only. The money we had left would run out in a week. Whatever, my decision would be to either change my life forever or land me back in the streets. Moreover, why would he choose to marry a stranger since he was dying….

I lied.

I don’t even know why I lied, but I had to convince her somehow, anyhow, let her just agree to be mine. I hope she does not think too much or I should double the money. Wait!! Even when I mentioned the amount, she declined until I lied I was sick. I knew she was a good girl, but to this extent.

“Boss,” Gomez said. “ She was seen at the university today,” he finished. She is a college student??? Argghh!! Now I feel bad.

“ Find out all the details about her,” I instructed.

I had business to attend to at Milan and I wouldn’t be back till next week. Hopefully she has made up her mind in favour of mine.
