The silence between us felt heavy, like the words I wanted to say were trapped in my chest, weighing me down. Finally, I took a deep breath and spoke, choosing my words carefully.
“Julian, look… these past few days have been amazing. Truly. The way you’ve treated my parents, the way you’ve fit into this whole holiday it’s been more than I could have asked for.”
