Athena walked towards their shared house, following Ethan's tracks as he walk to his room without even saying a word.
Awkward silence filled the whole area, It felt like something very new for the both of them.. They don't now what to do.
Athena was looking down on Ethan's shoes, finally seeing it halt in front of his room.
"Ms. Saavedra,"
he turned towards her direction. Athena looked up and met his eyes.
"Y-yes chairman?"
she anticipated his words, only to get disappointed next.
"Let's act like professionals on the office as much as possible," he said. Athena bit her lower lip and nodded her head, looking down and turning to her room's door.
She felt abit uneasy, thinking that he doesn't want to disclose what's going on between them.
Before she can even walk towards her room, Ethan pulled her hand back to him again and raised her chin. Athena blushed and looked away.
"I said act professional when we are on the office. This is not the company's building," Ethan smiled slightly and pulled her downstairs.
"where are we going..?"
"cook for me. I'm starving." he said and looked at her.
"You haven't eaten dinner yet?"
he asked her and pushed her on the kitchen counter while he sat on the stool.
"i totally forgot about it.. What do you want to eat?" Athena stomach rumbled.
"let's eat instant noodles."
Athena immediately looked at Ethan with a ridiculed expression. he looked at her with clueless eyes, raising his brows.
"You don't know what does that mean right....?" Athena asked him. Ethan's forehead creased.
"What are you saying? I only want to eat instant noodles...." Athena just chuckled and shook her head.
'too innocent...'
She thought to herself and smiled.
Athena prepared the instant noodles from the pantry and she added eggs and green onion on there too.
"here. eat,"
she served him the bowl of ramyeon after a few minutes of cooking it.
"I can still remember the last time you served me instant noodles, "
he said smiling at her. Athena rolled her eyes, remembering exactly what happened.
It will surely haunt her forever. That moment, when their lips are connected.
"Just eat. okay?"
That time when she thought he'll kiss her. she expected something and yet he just fell asleep. Ethan took a small bowl and put some of the ramyeon.
"chairman..."
she called him while sitting on the stool next to him. Ethan glared at her.
"It's Ethan,"
he corrected. Athena gulped.
"Ethan...."
"yes?"
he said, slurping the noodles.
"Can i ask you what do you feel towards me?"
Ethan stopped eating and looked at Athena with curious eyes. he put his chopsticks on the table and spoke straightforwardly.
"I don't know,"
he shortly said, Athena sighed.
"Take this as a challenge for you Ms. Saavedra..."
Ethan held her hand and squeezed it lightly.
"I'm giving you the permission to educate this young man in front of you."
she looked at Ethan's smiling eyes. She felt warmth. Again, the butterflies on her stomach that she found cringy the last time she read it on a romance novel was now romantic now that she can feel it herself.
"I'm clueless and scared. I can't call this love just yet. I'm not the guy who will fall into uncertainty.."
Athena smiled at him.
"A wise businessman never take risks that wasn't favored to them."
she continued. Ethan chuckled.
"I'm glad you understood."
"But still chairman, isn't that unfair for me? I'm taking this challenge without even knowing if i can win.."
"you're too cautious Ms. Saavedra. Aren't you in love with me?"
he said and smirked. Athena looked away.
"H-Hell no!!"
she stuttered while blushing.
"Oh really?"
he whispered, raising his eyebrow and grinning at her.
"Just like you, I'm confused too! "
she said, avoiding eye contact as she slurped the instant noodles, burning her tongue with how hot it is. Ethan quickly stood up and took some water on the fridge.
"How careless."
he said and poured some water in the glass and gave it to Athena. Athena looked at him and blushed.
"Why are you doing this...? It's weird..."
"Is it weird to treat you like someone i like?"
she almost spilled the water the moment she heard his words.
"enough chairman."
" I said it's Ethan, Ms. Saavedra."
"Ehh- It's awkward. "
she said and hissed.
"Then how can you call Gavin with his first name without feeling awkward?"
Ethan rolled his eyes and took some more noodles.
"Hey! You and Gavin are different okay? Don't be jealous!"
"huh? me? jealous? I don't even know that word."
he denied, shrugging his shoulders. This time, Athena grinned at him.
"Oh really chairman? do you wanna know why i was late earlier?"
"Tell me."
he just looked at Athena. Athena's grin widen
"It's because i was with Gavin."
Ethan's expression hardened. He glared at Athena before clicking his tongue.
"So?"
he pretended as if he didn't care at all.
"I took care of him since he was sick. We slept together and i forgot the time. That's why I'm late,"
she teased him. Ethan's aura darkened as he stood up and walked away.
"Hey Chairman!!"
Without uttering a word, he slammed the door of his room loudly making Athena flinch. Athena rushed to his room which is fortunately not locked.
he was tucked on his bed with the blanket all over him.
"what was that? I thought you are not jealous?" she laughed. Ethan hissed and removed the blanket on him, glaring at her direction.
"I'm not."
he murmured and rolled on the other side of the bed. Athena sat on the bed while laughing.
"You're so obvious chairman."
she snickered, making him even more pissed.
"Just like what I've said, You and Gavin are different. I like you, okay?"
Athena hid her smile as he slowly turned around.
"Tsss.. You can think of anything you want. But i am not jealous."
he clarified while blushing. Athena just shrugged her shoulders and stood up.
"Okay then,"
before she can even leave, Ethan pulled her towards the bed again making her lose her balance and fall on the soft bed next to him.
"WHA-!"
she yelled the moment she fell on the bed. Athena was pinned on the bed with Ethan's arms on the sides of her head while he is on top of her. They stared at each other intently. Ethan was blushing, he avoided eye contact.
"sleep beside me too."
he said, looking away. Athena bit her lips to suppress her laughter.
"Fine. Let me just wash the dishes and take a bath."
Ethan moved to her side and closed his eyes.
"I'll wait you here."
he whispered. Athena nodded and stood up.
'How adorable....'
She thought to herself, leaving him on his room.
The moment Athena stepped outside his room, Ethan's phone rang.
"Cassandra....?"
he was hesitant to answer the phone, but then he stood up and walked towards the veranda and answered it.
"Ethan...."
