22 : I waited again

"Where's Gavin?"

Athena hurriedly walked inside Gavin's mansion after they let her in.

"He's on his room Ms. Saavedra.... please help us."

his assistant told her. She glanced at her as they walk on the stairs.

"What actually happened to him?"

Athena asked his assistant.

"It was raining so hard yesterday and he ran on the rain because he said he's bored. Now he caught a fever. he's really childish. He doesn't even want anyone to care for him other than you Ms. Saavedra but he don't want you to come here. He's really weird,"

his assistant facepalmed.

Athena stopped on her steps and realized something.

*flashback*

It's pouring cats and dogs and Athena doesn't have any umbrella. She's in front of a cafe near the office. She managed to ran this far while the rain is still not pouring hard, now that it's too strong, She don't have any choice but to stop or else she'll be soaking wet when she go home.

Athena sighed and looked at her phone...

"huh? Is that you Athena?"

she heard a very familiar voice in front of her. she looked up, seeing Gavin holding an umbrella and looking at her with a confused look.

"Shouldn't you be home already?"

he asked her. Athena nodded her head.

"Well, I took an overtime. Chairman told me to fix the files on his laptop inside his office so yeah, I have no choice.

Jake nodded his head and looked around, seeing that she doesn't have any umbrella on her.

"Where's your umbrella...?"

Athena chuckled, shaking her head for a no.

"I don't have any,"

She answered making Gavin chuckle too.

"What- Gavin- What are you doing?!!! Use your umbrella!!"

she yelled at him as he close his umbrella and gave it to her.

"My car is only on the Skylark Group's parking lot. You can have this,"

Athena was hesitant to take it. Gavin smiled at her warmly and took her hand, placing the umbrella on it.

"Stay safe, Athena..."

he said and ran towards the company building. Athena trailed his steps until he is no longer to be seen. She sighed, opening the umbrella and commuting back home.

*end of flashback.

"that guy..."

Athena walked towards his room. she nodded to his assistant before knocking, telling them she'll be okay. His assistant bowed at her and left. She knocked on his door.

"Gavin....?"

she called him. The door didn't opened and no one answered so she knocked again.

"Gavin??"

no one is answering from the other side so she just opened it.

"Athena...?"

Gavin looked at her trying to regain his vision while taking deep breaths. His eyes were half closed.

"You're....sick?"

Gavin moved away and sat on his bed.

"obviously,"

he pouted. Athena shook her head and flicked his forehead. 

"aww... what was that for?!!"

he whined in pain.

"You acted like a hero yesterday but you're too vulnerable to take the consequences. what the hell is wrong with you Mr. Clarkson?"

she shook her head once again and stood up from the bed to walk towards the other side and approached him, putting her hands on his neck to check for his temperature.

"Oh god you're too hot!"

she yelled and flinched, immediately taking her hand away. Gavin smirk childishly.

"Of course i am hot!"

Athena rolled her eyes with Gavin's narcissistic statement.

"Where's the thermometer?"

he pointed the desk on the side of the bed. She took it and checked his temperature.

"Look at this... 39.8 degrees Celsius...?  How are you feeling?"

she asked him worriedly. Gavin shrugged his shoulder and took a deep breath.

"nauseous... It's so hard to breath too- *cough cough* and my throat is itchy..."

he shortly replied. Athena nodded her head.

"Wait here. I'll prepare some damp towel for you, have you eaten yet?"

Gavin shook his head telling her a no.

"I don't have the appetite. And i don't have the sense of taste too.... I don't want to eat."

he murmured. Athena said no.

"You need to eat so that you can take your medicines. I'll ask your assistant to make you some porridge. rest here,"

she said while standing up. Jake just nodded is head and covered himself with his comforter.

"alright. come back here, okay?"

"yeah yeah. please wait for me."

Athena said and left his room. She then checked the time on her wrist watch.

2:03  pm.

It took her one and a half hour just to came here since she just commuted. and the security on the whole subdivision was too tight, They never let her in up until Gavin's assistant escorted her inside.

4 hours...

she put her phone on her pocket and asked his assistant for some damp towels and the porridge for Gavin. Minutes later, she came back to his room with a small basin with cold water and some towels on it.

"Mr. Clarkson...?"

She entered the room seeing him on the bed, silently sleeping. she sat on the chair near his bed and put the small basin on the table.

"Gavin... wake up~"

Gavin hummed and rolled over to the other side of the bed. Athena can't help it but to chuckle.

she walked towards the other side of the bed and poked his nose.

"wake up,"

She whispered, smiling at how adorable Gavin is. Gavin rubbed his eyes, slowly getting up from his bed.

"The porridge is here Ms Athena."

His assistant arrived with a tray of hot pot. Athena thanked her as he leave the room.

"Can you eat on your own?"

Athena asked him. Gavin leaned his head on the headboard of the bed, his eyes were dozing off to sleep.

"I'll try..."

he answered. Athena put the tray of porridge in front of him. Gavin took the spoon., his hands were madly trembling but he still tried his best. Unfortunately, the porridge just burned his tongue. he winced in pain and looked at Athena with his puppy eyes.

"I don't wanna eat anymore,"

he told Athena. Athena shook her head again and took the tray away from him.

"Alright, I'll feed you,"

she scooped some from the bowl and blew on it. Gavin just watched her.

"Come to think of it... isn't it your office hour? Why are you here and wasting your time for me?"

Athena just smirked at him.

"Chairman told me i can get day off for today. I invited him for a dinner later. I'm excited."

she answered and giggled. Gavin just smiled at her.

"I'm happy for you. at least he's not ignoring you anymore."

he said and suppressed his laugh. he ate the porridge on the spoon she's pointing on his mouth.

"You're like my mom when you do this. pfft- should i call you mommy now?"

he commented. Athena's eyebrows crossed.

"do it and i'll shove this spoon on your throat."

Gavin's eyes widened.

"So scary~"

she finished feeding him and gave him the medicines he need. She put the damp towel on his forehead and asked him to sleep.

"Stay here for a little bit..."

Athena looked at her wrist watch seeing it's already 3pm. She looked at Gavin while Gavin pleaded with his puppy eyes. 

she can't resist it.

"fine."

Gavin smiled at her and tap the side of the bed.

"You can sit here. You want to sleep with me?"

Athena's eyes went wide.

"What the hell, Gavin?"

Gavin just raised a brow and chuckled.

"What are you thinking? I said sleep."

he said and just pulled her towards the bed.

"Wah-!"

she squealed as Gavin pulled her. He softly laughed.

"Good night Mommy Athena~"

he teased her. Athena rolled her eyes, pursing her lips to prevent herself from smiling with how adorable Gavin is.

"Sleep well you dummy."

she said. Gavin nodded, closing his eyes and dozing off to sleep.

The air was too calm. Gavin's body temperature kept her warm and comfortable in some sort of ways.

She yawned with how comfortable her position is.

'an hour... won't hurt right?'

8:16 pm

Ethan walked out from the place. Secretary Lim met him with disappointed eyes.

he waited again...

for nothing.
