CHAPTER 22 - ESCAPE FROM AQUALIS
The temple walls groaned as dark lightning struck the ocean outside. Cracks spread across the glowing pearl stone, letting in thin streams of dark energy. The Obsidian soldiers were trying to break through. Lyra gripped her sword. “We need to leave. Now.” Serena nodded quickly. “Follow me.” She led them through a hidden passage behind the temple altar. The tunnel twisted through coral and glowing sea plants until it opened into the outer city of Aqualis. But the peaceful ocean kingdom was no longer calm. Dark shapes filled the water. Shadow riders circled above the coral towers, their beasts slashing through the currents. Obsidian soldiers swam through the streets, chasing the citizens of Aqualis.
