Chapter 19

1043 Words
As an eighteen-year-old boy, Zack didn't always know when he'd f****d up. But he knew it now. He'd just pulled up out the front of his house and Serina was glaring at him from the passenger's seat of his jeep. "Did you need to grab something?" She asked him. Her voice held a dangerous edge to it. Zack felt his cheeks heat and a sinking feeling in his stomach. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea? "No." He admitted. "I thought we could just hang out here today." Serina tried to smother her disappointment. When Zack had asked her if she wanted to go somewhere the day before, she'd assumed he'd meant a date. To be fair, he never said it was a date. She thought. Still, she didn't think she was really in the mood to just jump straight into bed with him. "Come on." Zack said, releasing his seat belt and hopping out of the car. "I have something to show you." Serina hesitated for a moment. Peering up at the front of the large house. That something better not be in his pants. "Fine." She grumbled, following him out of the car. To her surprise, Zack reached for her hand and threaded their fingers together. "Follow me." He led her through the house and back out through the back door. He could tell that she was still unimpressed. He knew Serina had been expecting a proper date. And to be honest, he had been intending to take her on one. Until he'd realized that a public date met potential witnesses. Which meant a chance that Emmett could find out. And Zack just wasn't ready for that to happen yet. So he'd brought her here, like a dirty little secret. Part of him felt guilty about it. But the other part reminded him of all the reasons he was doing the right thing. Besides, he wasn't just bringing her home for s*x. When Serina spotted his surprise at the end of the patio, she gasped. "Oh!" Zack felt his lips pull into a smile. "I thought you might like this." The outdoor table had been draped with a white tablecloth and tea set for two. There was even a little cake stand with little cupcakes Serina knew June had to have organized. Actually, she was pretty sure June had done most of the work. Zack led her to the table and pulled out her chair for her. "My lady." He gave her a goofy little smile and bowed. Serina laughed as she sat down. "What is this?" She asked. "A tea party." Zack replied, as if it was obvious. He sat down as well, in the chair beside her at the little round table, and reached for a little cake with swirling pink icing. "Just like you used to have." The memory of their last tea party hit Serina hard and her smile fell. Zack reached for her hand and squeezed it gently. "I promise not to ruin this one." Serina swallowed down the lump in her throat before reaching for her tea. She immediately noticed that Zack's cup was filled with defiantly not tea. "What is that?" She asked, nodding to his cup. "Lemonaide." He told her. "I'm not much of a tea drinker." She laughed and shook her head. They settled into a surprisingly easy conversation. "Omm meh gwom." Serina moaned around a bite of a strawberry shortcake. It was so good, she just couldn't help herself. Zack laughed at her adorableness. He reached out to cup her cheek and swipe a speck of cream from her cheek with his thumb. Her beautiful blue eyes met his much darker one as something sizzled between them. Without waiting for his brain to catch up and stop him, Zack leaned in and pressed his lips gently to hers. Her lips tasted like sweet strawberries, making his head spin. Serina didn't pull away and so Zack deepened the kiss. Sliding his tongue out to lick at her lips, tasting the sugary sweetness. Serina let out a breathy moan as she opened for him. Their tongues moving against each other. His hands came up to loosely hold her neck. Serina was leaning so far out of her chair, that he was the only thing keeping her up. Zack's mouth left hers to blaze a path along her jaw and all the way to that tender spot just behind her left ear. She shivered as his warm breath tickled the shell of her ear. "I learned about this little spot while reading one of your books." He whispered before placing a small kiss on the sensitive spot just behind her ear. Serina shivered again, anticipation making her skin prickle. She could feel his smile against her skin. "What else did you learn?" She whispered back. "So much." He gently licked the shell of her ear and she couldn't contain a moan. "I have so many ideas. So many plans for you." Heat pooled in her belly and her breasts grew tight. That was new. "Like?" She asked. Surprising herself with her own boldness. She felt him smile against her skin as his lips brushed down to her neck. He kissed her there. "Do you know how many scenes I found where the guy sweeps food off the table, just so he can lay the girl down and eat her p***y instead?" His hands were on her hips, lifting her butt from her chair to the end of the table. Serina saw what he was about to do and grabbed his arm. "Don't!" He stilled at her panicked tone. "Please don't make a mess?" "Make a...?" Was she serious right now? "Well you did promise you wouldn't ruin it." "But..." Zack had about three seconds before he lost all the progress he'd just made with Serina. Then it hit him. He shrugged and bent to sweep her legs up. Serina squealed in surprise as Zack picked her up bridal style and made for the back door. He got two steps before halting and going back to the table. "Grab one of those cakes." He gestured to them with his chin. "I can walk." Serina protested. But she grabbed a cake from the table anyway.
