I couldn't find Claire, so I went home to wait for her.
I sat on the sofa reading that expense message over and over. Every second of waiting felt like torture.
When I saw her walk in, joy filled my heart. I finally had a chance to explain that Evelyn and I really had nothing going on.
But when I heard Claire speak to me in such a cold tone, fury burned inside me.
I needed a reason to come home and see my wife?
