Claire's POV
Sarah and the other interviewer exchanged glances but left without argument.
Now it was just me and the Alpha CEO.
I swallowed nervously. Could he recognize me as a werewolf the same way I'd identified him? Impossible. I was wearing the pendant. Stella grew alert too.
The Alpha kept staring at me. To avoid looking guilty, I maintained my composure and gave him my most charming smile.
"You must be the CEO Sara mentioned, the one who personally interviews financial directors?"
He didn't respond, just studied me with interest, as if trying to figure something out.
"You're not entirely human." Finally he spoke. It wasn't a question.
My heart stopped.
"Excuse me?" I forced myself to stay calm.
"I can sense it. There's something different about you."
