Meerah 4: The Masked Princess

The guard house in Pratag courtyard.

Rowen walked in and found Kendrick sitting on a chair with his head down. He quickly got up when he heard and felt the presence of someone in the room as they both starred at each other before Kendrick decides to break the silence.

" you are here Father" he muttered in his most subtle voice.

"Obviously" Rowen muttered sarcastically.

"How was it?" Kendrick said with cold foot as he shivers.

" well as you can see, I am still alive with my whole parts stuck to me". He clicked his tongue.

Kendrick nodded sheepishly as if he wasn't aware of the fact that he is actually alive with his parts not cut off.

"What about Meerah?" Kendrick asked again

"Oh latch your stinky mouth son of a covess"

Rowen said in anger under his breath.

" I just want to know what transpired over there" he stammered.

"Then you should have dragged your cowardly self down the hall, but what did you do? You sat here not confidence in your own Father, you are such a piece of junk Ken".

" Father Meerah won't let it slide, she will come after you".

Rowen laughed out loud and clapped his palm.

"Oh you should have seen how she shivers and cried at the speed of my sword"

"You killed some"? Kendrick said instantly as he walked towards his Father.

" yes I did, just two nuisance on the way, it one actually because the other one could be regarded as a necessary repudiation"

Kendrick shivered and quiver.

" She will come after you Father, she is crazy"

"If you had been in the hall, you would know how calm and helpless she exists, and no one dare cross my aisles".

Rowen dashed towards Kendrick and held him on the neck as he let him choke.

" is there something else you are not telling me?" Rowen asked in threat.

"No Father" Kendrick countered in distress.

Rowen held his neck firmer and dragged him to the candle as he placed his face closer to to the candle light.

"What should you be telling me Ken?" Kendrick said in a husky unfriendly tone.

"I will speak!" Kendrick cried out.

"Meerah saw everything" he said gasping as Rowen left him to fall on the hard floor.

"What are you talking about?"

He asked in shook

" Meerah was the one eaves dropping Father, she saw you kill the the maid too" Rowen added.

" when did you know that?" Rowen asked

Kendrick crawled backward knowing what he is getting himself into.

" I saw it all Father, I saw her run back into her crib and closed the cottons"he sniffed

"You watched me killed a noble maid Ken" he screamed.

" no Father, you already killed her before I showed up outside" he talked back breathing heavily.

"Well it your fault i***t, it is because of your sluggish self" Rowen muttered.

"Don't blame me Father, not like you feel remorse for killing the maid, she is just a necessary repudiation I know".

" of course she is, I am not worried about her fool, but Meerah must have known too much by now" Rowen sat quietly on a stool not comfortable.

Kendrick finally stood up and walked to where Rowen is sitting.

"What are we going to do Father?" Kendrick asked. Rowen looked up at Kendrick and went back with his head looking clueless.

"We will wait" he said

" she must make a move before we do" he ended.

Kendrick doesn't really feel comfortable with the idea but nodded his head in agreement at least.

"We will wait" he repeated.

Meerah can be seen tossing around in her room restless and sweaty, she was still in her black leader pant revealing her curvy hips as it twerk following the rhythm of her steps. She turned around at the presence of Daijan.

"what is working you up Mistress" Daijan asked innocently.

Meerah looked at her in scorn" how can you act like you are not aware of anything Daijan.

"What could that be mistress, I don't think anything should be troubling the most beautiful woman in Patag" Daijan said smiling.

"Can't you see what Rowen is up to? " Meerah raised her voice.

"Really? What could he have done?". Daijan asked.

Meerah sat on her stool.

"He killed the Maid, I saw him kill her in the courtyard because I was watching, I watched till the end and I know what he did, He killed the maid Daijan" Meerah said almost teary.

Daijan walked to her and spoke almost whispering.

" no Mistress, he killed a Man in disguise" she smiled

"Isn't it funny and ironical? It a Man trying to steal from Patag, The Commander killed a thief" she said in a boring annoying monotonous voice.

Meerah stood up immediately and walked up to Daijan.

"No Daijan do not believe him, he is telling tales" Daijan withdrew her arm from hers and turned around pretending to clean the mirror shelf as her eyes were littered with tears.

"Can't you see what he did to the poor old woman who only seek justice for her child" Meerah said in a breathy voice.

"He didn't kill the old Woman, a palace guard did" Daijan claimed.

"That was because he asked him to Daijan"

Meerah replied.

"I don't know when and how he did that Mistress, I really don't know about that".

" that was why he killed the Palace guard immediately to stop any suspicion " Meerah tried to make Daijan understand the scene but Daijan seems too clueless and difficult.

" He killed the palace guard because he killed the old woman".

"Daijan Rowen is a traitor and a liar" Meerah cried out.

"He is a dog Meerah, Dogs don't lie because they are faithful to the core".

"I was at the courtyard yesterday Daijan" Meerah revealed as they both looked at each other in the eyes for sometimes. Daijan quivers as she is aware of what the Princess knows, instead she warned her of invading the palace guards.

"You should never do that again" Daijan muttered

"What?" Meerah asked surprisingly.

"You should stop eaves dropping on the Palace guards, especially the Commander" Daijan said shakingly.

Meerah walked towards her confidently and said with a firm husky voice.

"Maybe you would have appreciated my actions if you've heard what they are up to"

Daijan blinked her eyes and looked away hoping she had left room earlier.

"What is it Mistress?" She asked nonchalantly

"They want the throne Daijan, that is why Kendrick is going to marry me, to get the throne Daijan, can you imagine that" she said expecting a reaction from Daijan.

The room was mute for a while with Daijan not facing the Princess.

"I will get you a cup of black tea" Daijan said as she walked out teary.

Meerah stood still dumbfounded about Daijan's blank attitude towards the situation and wondered why she isn't even startled at her information.

Meerah sat on the stool as she gradually deviates from thinking about Daijan to wondering about how she is going to solve the current problem. She wished her Father was going to believe her this once as she remembered how much he hated hearing from her.

She tightened her fist angrily as Daijan came back with a cup of tea.

" here is your cup of tea Mistress" she said while keeping the tea close to her beside the mirror.

"I never requested for a cup of tea Daijan" she stood and tossed around her room as she backed Daijan.

" I will inform the King about this at dawn" Meerah said in a firm voice.

"He wouldn't listen " Daijan said quickly and almost regretted it but quickly continued to quench any suspision.

"He never listen to you my Mistress, I don't think he will listen this time" she said modestly.

"I will try Daijan because he have to be on my side for us to help the kingdom Daijan"

"A king will always hold up to his Dogs word Mistress, That is why he will never listen to you" Daijan said.

"He is my Father Daijan, He should listen to me". Meerah added

"He has always been your Father when he refused to listen to you Mistress"

Now Daijan was obviously close to tears.

"He will listen because he wouldn't want to trade his throne to Rowen". Meerah emphasized.

"Stay away from Rowen and his household Mistress" Daijan warned in her firm old brittle voice".

Daijan suddenly switched from being firm to her subtle and clueless self.

"Your tea Will get cold Mistress" she smiled.

"I will get evening dress ready" she said

"Let me know when you are ready for your warm bath" Daijan said with a smile.

"Meerah seems lost in Daijan warning wondering why she always want her away from his business, she recalled everything that happened in the hall and totally set into disagreement with Daijan warning.

She pulled the sparrow that tucked her hair together as she wondered when she will end Rowen,

" someday Rowen, someday" she repeated emphatically.

A maid walked in with a beautiful satin dress and announced that it time for her bath if she was ready, Meerah turned deaf to her as she caressed the item in her hand.
