The car pulled into the school's parking lot. Cade, Chase and Have exited first, closely followed by Willa and then me.
The moment I stepped out into the morning's sunlight, my presence caused quite a stir. The students passing, talking amongst themselves about all that had happened over the weekend all stopped to stare.
"Here goes nothing," Willa murmured from beside me.
The triplets flanked us on both sides as we made our way down the parking lot, through the throng of gaping students.
"But she was with Asher just last week," I heard a girl with freckles say to her friend in a voice she didn't bother to lower.
Apparently, she wanted to be heard.
Spurred on by this, someone far back called out, "She's cheap. Dirt cheap! Anyone can have her. Just like that."
