After hearing her mother's question, Camila thought for a moment. She didn't want to hide anything from her mother, but she also didn't feel ready to discuss her relationship with Daniel at that moment.
"I just met a friend for coffee, Mom," Camila replied with a faint smile.
Mrs. Sheilla gave Camila a sharp look, "It's late, and it's very dangerous for you, especially since you were accosted by thugs yesterday. I don't want anything to happen to you,"
"Camila promised to come, mom, it's a class event after all," she lied.
Sheilla's mother was silent for a while before nodding. "Alright, but make sure you get home before late at night."
Camila gave her mother a promise, even though her heart was pounding from her secret meeting with Daniel.
When she arrived at the café, she saw Daniel already waiting for her at a table in the corner. A big smile was etched on her face as she approached the table.
"Hey, Camila!" greeted Daniel as he got up from his chair.
Camila's heart beat faster as she saw Daniel's face for the second time. They stared at each other for a moment before finally sitting down together to talk.
The evening passed quickly, filled with pleasant conversation and laughter. Camila felt like she had known Daniel for years, not just a few days.
"Daniel is so handsome, and I think I'm in love with Daniel," Camila murmured as Daniel picked up his bike.
"Time to take the princess," Daniel said.
When they finally parted, Camila was thrilled, but also filled with happiness. The meeting had exceeded her expectations.
Camila opened the door of her house very carefully so that her mother wouldn't wake up. Camila turned on the light and she was surprised by the presence of her mother standing tall in front of her.
"I- Mom." Camila's heart was pounding, resigned to the consequences.
"Where have you been!" Sheilla's mother shouted, holding back tears because of her disappointment in Camila for coming home so late in the morning.
Camila prostrated herself at her mother's feet, "M- I'm sorry mom, Camila promised not to do it again."
"I'm very disappointed that you're not like this!"
After a tense second, Mrs. Sheilla finally let out a long breath. She looked at her daughter's face with a mixed expression of deep sadness and disappointment.
"Camila, you should know how worried I am about your safety. Coming home so late without telling me, that's unacceptable," she said in a soft yet firm voice.
Camila bowed her head in deep regret. "I know, Mother. I'm so sorry."
Mrs. Sheilla paused for a moment, letting their words sink in. Finally, she made a decision, "All right, Camila. I will forgive you this time. But you must promise me that this will never happen again."
Camila nodded sincerely. "I promise, Mom. I won't do it again."
After their meeting, the relationship between Camila and her mother was strained. Although Mrs. Sheilla had forgiven her daughter, the disappointment she felt was palpable in their every glance and conversation. Mrs. Sheilla chose to give Camila time to reflect on her actions, while she herself tried to soothe her heart that was wounded by feelings of disappointment and worry.
Days passed without much interaction between mother and daughter. Camila felt isolated in their home, reflecting on her actions and promising herself not to repeat them again.
"Camila, I'm outside, let's go." That was the message sent by Daniel.
Camila went out of her bedroom window without her mother knowing, she followed Daniel's invitation to go somewhere.
"Where are we going, Niel?" asked Camila after they had traveled a considerable distance.
"I have a surprise for you. Just follow me."
Daniel continued to push his bike until they arrived at a very beautiful place. "It's really beautiful," said Camila.
"Do you like it?" asked Daniel, starting to dare to hold Camila's hand.
The two of them enjoyed their time together and Camila was carried away by Daniel's romance. It was getting late, Camila began to get agitated and was afraid that her mother would be angry with her again.
"Daniel." Camila looked at Daniel, who was enjoying his drink.
"Yes, dear," Daniel said softly.
"I want to go home," he said hesitantly.
"Home? Okay, we're going home even though there's something I want to say/"
Daniel got up from his seat, walked over without waiting for Camila, "Daniel, are you angry?"
"No, forget all about us!" he said.
"I don't want to go home. Niel, I'll keep you company here." Camila hugged Daniel from behind, the innocent woman did not want to lose Daniel and chose to ignore her mother.
Camila's actions left Mrs. Sheilla was in a state of shock and disbelief. She couldn't understand how her daughter could repeat such a reckless act, especially after their heartfelt conversation and Camila's promise not to do it again.
"Why did you repeat it again La," Mrs. Sheilla's trembling hands closed the window of her daughter's room. She tried to reach Camila by phone but to no avail.
Second day, Mrs. Sheilla walked into Camila's room, her heart heavy with worry and disappointment. She couldn't sleep, her mind filled with worst-case scenarios and fear for Camila's safety. Every hour that passed felt like an eternity, and with every minute that passed, Mrs. Sheilla's anxiety deepened.
As the morning sun broke through the darkness, Mrs. Sheilla felt desperate. Camila hadn't come home yet, she was at a loss as to what to do next. Tears welled up in her eyes as she struggled to accept the harsh reality of her daughter's actions.
"Camila, I miss you!" Mrs. Sheilla clutched Camila's picture tightly with the phone in her hand as she continued to search for Camila's whereabouts through her friends.
"No one knows your whereabouts my child, where are you?" Sheilla's mother's tears broke out again as she remembered the kind and obedient Camila.
Meanwhile, Camila was lost in a whirlpool of emotions. Guilt, shame, and regret engulfed her as she wandered the streets aimlessly, trying to escape the mess she had created. She knew she had disappointed her mother in the worst way, and the gravity of her actions crushed her spirit.
Hours turned into days as Camila wandered the city, her mind filled with thoughts of her mother and the pain she had caused. She longed for the ability to turn back time and fix everything, but she knew in her heart that it was too late to apologize.
"Mom," said Camila
