Alexander was surprised when he laid eyes on the name Hailey Miller on the recommendation letter the doctor had given him. Deep down, he hoped it wasn't the same Hailey Miller he had encountered in that awkward bathroom stall, He made his way to her office, only to be informed that she wasn't there.
So he told the receptionist to inform her that someone was urgently waiting for her
"Dropping me off in the middle of the road wasn't enough for you, you had to trace me to my workplace?" Hailey asked as walked into the room angrily
"You must think you are of that importance Hailey Miller, and I don't think that's a professional way to speak to someone" Alexander responded with a nonchalant tone, crossing his legs and casually brushing his hands through his beard.
"Alright, let's keep it professional. What are you doing in my office, Mr...?" she paused, realizing she didn't even know his name. "Mr. What?" she asked, standing at the edge of the table near Alexander.
"Mr. Alexander Walker," Alexander replied.
"So, Mr. Alexander Walker, what brings you to my office?" Hailey asked.
"My grandfather was admitted to the hospital. He has severe spinal stenosis, and he's too old to undergo surgery due to complications," Alexander explained, his gaze fixed on Hailey.
"So, what does that have to do with me?" Hailey asked, in a confused tone
"The doctor offered us a non-surgical treatment option for spinal stenosis, involving a geriatrician, and he specifically recommended you," Alexander continued.
"Well, I'm sorry about your grandfather, but I can't take on his case," Hailey responded almost immediately.
"Why not?" Alexander inquired, seeking an explanation.
"Your grandfather's condition requires specialized care, which means I would have to prioritize him over my current patients," Hailey replied, her tone conveying her genuine concern. "However, I can't leave my other patients halfway through their treatment, especially the much older patients who require special care as well. I hope you understand." her decline wasn't from any malicious point. She can't leave her patients halfway to attend to his grandfather, especially her grandmother who needs special care.
"I need you to drop your other patients and prioritize my grandfather's care, Name your price, and it's a done deal," Alexander said his face remaining composed as he made the request. As a businessman he doesn't think there is anything that can't be solved with either money or power, and he has both.
Hailey's breath quickened as she heard those words, her heart pounding in her chest. "What! You think you can just walk in here and insult me?" she exclaimed, feeling deeply hurt. She had always kept her personal life separate from her job, but Alexander was making it difficult for her. "I understand that you want the best care for your grandfather, but I have a responsibility to all my patients," she said, trying to maintain her professionalism. "It's not just about money. It's about providing equal care to everyone. I'm going to have to ask you to leave my office, Mr. Alexander Walker."
"It doesn't have to be this hard Hailey Miller," Alexander said as he stood up to face her directly "It doesn't have to" he repeated emphasizing his point, with a firm resolve he walked out of the office. he had expected her to decline due to their initial encounters but he wasn't going to leave her with much choice

Mr. Walker steadied his hands on the crutches, glancing around as he walked slowly through the hospital halls. It had been days since he had been asking around for the lady who had saved his life, but no one seemed to know about her. This left him feeling perplexed. He was certain that she worked in the hospital, but he couldn't pinpoint which department she belonged to.
"Mr. Walker?" a voice called out from behind, causing him to tilt his head in the direction of the voice.
"You're Mr. Walker, right? Don't you remember me?" Mrs. Parker, Hailey's grandmother, asked, studying his face to confirm if it was the person she thought it was.
"Mrs. Parker!" Mr. Walker exclaimed with recognition. "How long has it been? I think thirty years?"
"It's been years. How have you been?" Mrs. Parker asked as she walked towards him. She had left her room for her usual daily exercise when she spotted him and decided to say hello.
"I'm fine, except for the old age kicking in," he replied jokingly.
"Well, you know the saying, you have more problems when you get older," Mrs. Parker said, she was excited to have met him again. Mr. Walker was an old friend of her late husband, and they had lost touch after his passing.
"What about little Vicky? She must be all grown up now," Mr. Walker inquired.
"Oh, my little Vicky. We lost her some years back," Mrs. Parker replied, her voice filled with sadness.
"I'm so sorry to hear that," Mr. Walker responded immediately, feeling a wave of sadness upon learning about the loss. After the death of his friend, he hadn't heard anything from them, and this news was heartbreaking.
"It's fine, Mr. Walker. She left a mini Vicky behind, my granddaughter. She works at this hospital," Mrs. Parker said proudly, trying to suppress the sudden sadness in her heart.
"Wow, that's wonderful! She must be a brilliant kid," Mr. Walker replied with enthusiasm.
"Of course she is! I will introduce you two one of these days," Mrs. Parker replied, with so much excitement.
"I would love that," he said, holding onto his crutches tightly. "I have to go now. My grandson is going to be mad at me if he sees me here."
"You have a grandson?" Mrs. Parker asked, her face lighting up in surprise.
"I have two grandsons," Mr. Walker replied proudly.
"That's great! Well, I will let you go and have some rest. I hope to see you soon."
"Sure, Mrs. Parker. See you around," Mr. Walker said as he continued down the hall.

"Lilly please open the door" her mother called out, she had been knocking for hours now and Lilly had refused to open up.
Lilly couldn't sleep throughout the entire night. the scene from the engagement kept replaying in her head, and it was causing her immense distress. While she had wanted the engagement to be called off, she never expected it to escalate to the point of an explicit video of her being shown to the public. Even after the video was shown, Damon further humiliated her, claiming that she had seduced him and labeled her with derogatory names. Her father had refused to speak to her since they came back from the party. And her phone has been constantly buzzing with hurtful and insulting messages.
"Honey, come out and have something. You haven't eaten," her mother called out again, yet there was no answer. So, she asked the Maid to get her the spare key.
Lilly sat on the bed, tears streaming down her cheeks, a little razor blade trembling in her hand. She wished she could numb the throbbing ache, make it all disappear, or become unseen. The weight of constantly seeking her father's approval and feeling overshadowed by her sister had taken its toll. She was exhausted, tired of it all, and the thought of ending it all crossed her mind.
"Honey, I'm sorry. I know you want your space, but I'm coming in to check if you're alright," her mother, now filled with worry, said as she used the spare key to open the door. With a swing, the door opened, revealing a horrifying sight. The tray of food slipped from her hands, crashing to the floor. A scream escaped her lips as she rushed towards her daughter, who lay in a pool of her own blood.

Alexander sat in his office, consumed by thoughts of Hailey's reluctant refusal to take on his grandfather's case. Determined to break her, he knew exactly what he had to do.
He reached for his cell phone and dialed a number. "Hello, Doctor Raphael. I need you to do something for me," he said to the person on the other end of the line.
"Of course, Mr. Walker. Whatever it is," the doctor replied without hesitation.
"I want you to immediately relieve Hailey Miller of her duties at the hospital. Make sure she knows that I'm the one behind this decision," Alexander instructed with a sense of authority.
