Zack paced around his room, his fist was balled in rage, he couldn't stop thinking of how Amber stood up to him, it made him so furious each time he remembered it.
He needs to do something to break her ego, something to punish her for what she's done to him.
A knock sounded on his door and he sniffed the air to get the scent.
"Mother." He said with gritted teeth.
"Come in."
The door creaked open and his mother walked in.
"Zack." She called softly.
"Are you okay son?" She asked, she could tell he was still very furious and this made her keep a reasonable distance from him.
She was equally terrified of him sometimes, especially times when he's like this, but she made sure not to show it.
"What do you want mom?" Zack asked, turning to face her.
"I heard Amber was here, what happened between you two?"
Zack sighed deeply, "Nothing mom, you don't have to concern yourself with my personal issues." He snapped. She flinched.
"Zack—"
"Please mom, I want to be alone right now, I need no disturbance at this moment." He said, a note of finality in his voice.
His mother shook her head sadly, then she turned to leave. She paused when she got to the door, her back was facing him.
"Amber's mother called, Amber has finally agreed to the marriage and that was the reason she came here. I just came to tell you that, you shouldn't ruin your chances with her, it'll also be of great benefit to you if you marry her." She said then she left.
"So the b***h still wants to marry me after what she's done."
"How much were you paid for all this Amber, just how much were you paid to ruin my reputation."
"But then, mother is right, this will also be of a great benefit to me if we were to get married, at least, I'll be able to punish her that way." He said with an evil smirk.

"Let's go to our usual spot Xander, after that I'll leave for home." Amber said.
They were both standing outside Xander's home.
Amber didn't get any response from him, she nudged his arm, bringing him out of his reverie.
"Huh?" Xander flinched.
"What's with you? What are you thinking about?"
"You." Xander unconsciously muttered.
"Me?" Amber replied with a confused frown on her face.
Xander instantly realized what he's just said, "No no, not like that, not like that, I mean, I can't believe you still want to marry Zack after all this." He said and Amber sighed.
"And what could he possibly be talking about? What did you do to him?"
"How do I tell you this Xander, I can't tell you about the one night stand I had with him, but I'm sure that's not the reason."
"Tell me Amber." Xander urged.
"It's nothing Xander, I really don't know, I have no idea about what he's talking about, but let's leave that."
Xander faced her and he took both her hands in his, staring deeply into her eyes.
"Don't marry him Amber. Please, Zack is messed up at the moment, and look, look at what he's done to you, if you marry him what guarantee do you have that he won't do more to you."
"Please Amber, don't get married to him."
Amber looked at him, she could see the care and concern he had for her.
"I get what you're saying Xander, but you should also know that I'm not a child and I can take care of myself. I'll handle my problems, don't worry."
Xander would have loved to say more, but knowing Amber, she's a tough nut and once she has her mind on something, then she's not backing out.
He let go of her hand and raised his hand in surrender, "Alright Amber, if you say so, but just let me know if you ever need me."
"Why?" Amber smirked, "Will you go against the Alpha for me?"
"Yes." Xander replied without hesitation.
Amber laughed, then she smacked his arm, "Come on now, let's get going."
At the lake....
"Wow!" Amber gasps at how beautiful the place was.
"It's even more beautiful than I remember, I can't believe this."
"It sure is, I haven't been here much either." Xander said.
"Why?"
"I have no one with me, you weren't here either, so I didn't want to come here alone."
"Awwn, which is more of a reason you should hurry and get a partner for yourself, you shouldn't be busy with work that you'll have no time for yourself."
Xander scoffed loudly, "Oh please. Even if I have a partner, I won't bring her here."
"And why is that?"
"This is our special spot, only you and I know about this place, no one else is allowed to come here, remember?"
Amber chuckled, she remembers it all well, they had promised to not bring anyone here, it'll be just them.
Amber faced the lake once more, the sun was shining brightly on the surface of the water and when you look at it, it'll feel like it was burning right through your skin.
"Wanna go for a nice swim?" She asked.
"Sure, why not, but you go first." Xander winked.
Amber took off her clothes, leaving her in just her bra and panties, she took a deep breath and plunged into the water.
Xander followed suit, he took off his clothes, leaving him in just his underwear, then he dived into the water.
The coolness of it made a refreshing feeling run across their skin as the water covered their face and neck. The water felt different than what they were used to. There was more life in it, but there was also a lot of water.
They swam around underwater for a bit. There were fish everywhere. Some were floating by, others were splashing about in the deeper parts of the lake. They're pretty cute actually.
A wave hit the lake, bringing them close to each other.
Amber smiled, then she cupped some water in her palm and threw it at Xander.
"Jeez!" Xander half yelled, he wasn't expecting that.
"So that's how you want it huh?" He asked with a smirk.
"You're on then."
And that was how they began playing with the water, just like the good old days.
After enough playing and swimming, they both decided that it was time to finally go home, and besides, it was getting dark already.
They came out of the lake and wore their clothes.
"That was fun, thank you Xander, I feel so much relief now."
"I'm glad you're much better. I'll take you home now, your mother must be waiting for you."
Amber nodded and they left the lake to where Xander's car was parked.
Amber's home....
When they both got down from the car, they saw a black jeep parked outside her home.
"Alpha." Xander muttered.
"He's the one right?" Amber asked, still looking at the jeep.
Xander sighed, then he nodded.
"I'll come with you, j—"
"You don't have to." Amber interrupted.
"You've done enough already, you should go home and get some rest, I'll be fine."
"Amber—"
"Please Xander, nothing will happen, I'll be fine. Promise."
"Then at least let me walk you inside, I won't leave without doing that."
Amber smiled, "So stubborn, fine then, let's go."
They both went in and they saw Zack and Amber's mother in the living room.
The two turned to look at them, Zack squinted his gaze when he saw Xander.
"Good evening ma'am, Alpha." Xander bowed.
"Oh, Xander, it's nice to see you, how are you?"
"I'm fine ma'am."
"You should—" Amber's mother was saying.
"Xander is just leaving now mom." She interrupted, she knew her mother was about asking him to stay and she doesn't want that.
"Oh, is that so? Then do make sure to visit us sometime."
"I will ma'am." Xander smiled.
He said his goodbye then he left.
Amber's gaze met with Zack, her eyes were literally spitting fire, "So he's decided to come finish what he's started." She thought as she stared at him.
Her mother noticed that the way they were staring at each other, the tension in the room was too much and it was becoming stuffy.
"Why are you just standing there, come sit with us Amber." She said with a nervous laugh.
Amber nodded, then she went to sit down.
"Where have you been?" Zack asked.
Amber raised a brow, she wondered what he was up to this time, she squinted her eyes at him, "So this is how you want to play it huh?" She thought.
"None of your business Alpha," She replied sarcastically.
Her mother gasped in shock, she wasn't expecting that.
Zack balled his fist in rage, he wanted to teach her a lesson for disrespecting him, but he managed to keep his cool.
Soon, he'll get the chance to punish her.
