Michela’s ambulance rushed through the traffic to get to the hospital in time and Dave was right behind through every turn. When they got there, Michela was still unconscious and the paramedics placed her onto the hospital bed to be examined by the doctors. They were all over her when Dave walked into the room with a worried face. “Is she going to be alright Doc?” he asked anxiously. “Well we’re still trying to run some tests to determine what’s causing her to be unconscious. Are you her friend? Did she tell you if she suffers from anything that could help us stabilize her?” The doctor asked. “She’s a good friend of mine but No! she didn’t mention anything and she seemed fine when she came to class this afternoon,” Dave said. “Well then, you’re going to have to outside while we try and figure out what’s wrong with her,” the doctor said has he escorted Dave out of the room and shut the door. Dave sat in the waiting room with his anxiety shooting through the roof. He couldn’t understand why he was so worried about Michela but he felt the need to stay there with her so she wouldn’t wake up and feel scared or alone. “Good afternoon, we’re looking for a patient that was brought in about 2hours ago, her name is Michela Anderson, we’re her parents”. Hope said to the Receptionist in a worried tone. “Hold on Mrs. Anderson, let me just check”, said the receptionist. “yes, your daughter was brought in two hours ago by the paramedics. The doctors have been running some tests and scans on her to try and figure out what is causing her to be unconscious. Please wait in the waiting room over there and the Doctor will be right with you”, the receptionist said pointing the Andersons towards the waiting room. The couple walked towards the waiting room where Dave recognized them and got up to say hello. “Mr. and mrs Anderson, a pleasure to finally meet you. I’m a good friend of Michela’s”, Dave said stretching his hand forward to shake theirs. “What happened to her?” Michela’s Father Chad asked. “We were in the middle of a class when she started screaming, we didn’t know what was going on and before she could give me an answer she passed out.” Dave narrated. “oh, my baby!” Michela’s mom said as she trembled in fear. The Doctor walked in towards them, “you must be Michela’s parents”, he said putting his hand forward to say hello. “yes Doctor, Mr. and mrs Anderson”, Michela’s father said has he shook the Doctor’s hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, I’m Doctor Cray”, he said with a smile.   “so how is she Doc?”, Dave asked. “Well”, the doctor said “she’s doing much better now, she’s awake and you can go and see her in a short while”, he said in a happy tone. “But then, what went wrong doctor Cray?” Michela’s mother asked “your daughter suffers from severe migraines; is this the first time she’s experiencing such pain?” Doctor Cray asked. “yes! Michela has never been sick nor passed out since she was born, she only gets minor infections like colds and flus and nothing more”, Michela’s mother responded. “okay well, migraines are normal headaches usually caused by stress or sleep disorder, they often vary in intensity has some are accompanied by nausea, sensitivity to light and if too painful even fainting like Michela’s case, said doctor Cray. “so, I’m going to prescribe her some pills that she can take whenever the pain comes around for fast relief and we’ll keep her here for the night for observation then she’ll be discharged tomorrow morning”, he said calmly. “Thank you so much doctor Cray”, said Michela’s mother. “You are most welcome Ma’am, the nurse will call you in to see your daughter soon”, the doctor said has he walked away. They all sat the he waiting room with a sense of relief, anxiously waiting for the nurse to call them in to see Michela. “Are you Michela Anderson’s relatives?” the nurse walked in and asked. “yes! Yes, that’s us”, the Andersons responded has they quickly stood up. “you can go in and see her, but I’ll only allow two people at a time so has to not disturb the other patients”, she said has she directed them to the room. Michela’s parents walked into the room where their daughter had been resting found her laying upright on her bed. She smiled at them has they walked in towards her saying; “MOM, DAD! I MISSED YOU GUYS”. They both hugged her and asked her how she was feeling and talked to her to avoid her from noticing just how worried they had been about her. Michela talked to her parents for hours about school and how things had been since she had left home. Her father got up and left to get some fresh air and buy everyone something to eat and has he was leaving; Dave was still in the waiting room looking at his phone that he didn’t notice him pass by. “So…who’s the cute boy over there?” Hope whispered to Michela pointing her head towards Dave. Michela looked through the hospital vents and saw Dave dozing in the waiting room on his seat and remembered what had happened last night. “Mom! It’s not what you think, don’t you remember Dave?” She laughed and asked her mother. “No! I really don’t”, her mother responded curiously. “We went to high school together,” Michela said, laying her head back onto a pillow. “Remembered the kid that would shout at other pupils from being late or not dressing appropriately whenever you and dad dropped me off at school?” she asked her mother. “wait… you mean the kid that made himself school monitor and was always mad for no reason?” her mom asked in amazement. “yes, that kid”, Michela answered with a giggle. “wow! He’s all grown up and he looks less mad now, I’m guessing you’re at the same school again?” Hope asked. “yes, once again! But at least now he’s less annoying compared to when we were in high school”. Michela said has they both laughed softly. “Well, it was really sweet of him to accompany you here, but it’s getting late so I should probably ask him to get back to campus now”. Her mother said has she covered Michela properly with a blanket. “hey young man”, Michela’s mother said has she tried to wake Dave up. “It’s getting pretty late and Michela is feeling much better now, so maybe you should head back into campus. Besides we are here to look after her now and you seem tired.” “oh, okay Ma’am, I’ll get going now”, Dave said in an exhausted tone. “thank you so much for everything you did today, please give me your number so I can make sure Michela calls you”. Hope said has she took out her phone and got Dave’s number. “Goodnight Mrs. Anderson”, Dave said has he walked away. “Goodnight Dave, drive safely”, Shouted Michela’s Mother.
