Rhea did not sleep.
By dawn, the decision had already settled inside her chest.
She was going down to the Hollow Below.
The only problem was reaching it.
According to the First Vault, the Hollow wasn't a place a person could simply walk into. It existed beneath the living world, sealed off from ordinary paths, and the Bloodroot Path was the only known threshold.
Rhea stood outside the command tent to speak with Lucci.
"I'm coming," He said when she had barely finished explaining the vision.
Rhea turned to face him. "You didn't even think about it."
His dark eyebrows lifted. "I did."
"For how long?"
"About three seconds."
Despite the crushing weight pressing on her ribs, a faint breath escaped Rhea's lips. Almost a smile.
