Chapter Twelve Jason consulted the map on his phone and suggested a turn at the next cross street. He tried to concentrate on what he was going to ask the doctor, but memories of the kiss kept intruding. Kristie might not have had much practice, but she packed a sensual wallop that left him reeling. It brought a full-on case of guilt too. How could he be thinking about a woman—even this woman—when Will might be lying badly injured or dead somewhere? The doctor had set up a temporary clinic in a storefront on the edge of Scottsville’s five-block-long downtown area.
