Kristie nodded but didn’t answer. They turned back to the main building. As they walked toward the office, they passed Sid again. He nodded and stared hard at her for a minute before he went on by. Kristie’s heart paused while he looked her over, then resumed beating once he left. If he suspected she was a spy, Sid gave no indication, but she’d captured his notice, and even that thought terrified her. “I think I need a rest,” Kristie said to Tom. “Thank you for the tour.
