Chapter:THREE

The whole way home, all I could do is smile. Max is still prancing around nonstop, so I am hoping he will wear himself out soon because he is driving me crazy. Once I'm back at the pack house, I go to open the door and come face to face with the most annoying she-Lycan and the last person I wanted to be dealing with right now. Our very own pack slut, Summer. "Ricky! Your finally home! I missed you!" She says as she wraps her arms around my neck. I rolled my eyes. "Summer, why are you even here? I have told you that I wasn't interested in having 'fun' as you put it." I said, trying to hold back a growl. After a moment, she pulled away and looked up at me with fake ass tears. "Ricky, why not? I know you want this! " She says while motioning to herself. I once again rolled my eyes, this time not even trying to hide it. I let a low growl pass my lips. She backs away and leaves. . . . . For now. After my run in with Summer, I was making my way to the sitting room when I suddenly heard my father's booming voice from behind me, which caused me to jump a little. "Son! You seem to be in a pretty good mood considering what we have just seen." My father says as I turn to see him and my mother walking towards me as they both chuckle about giving me a mini-heart attack. "You two just love sneaking up on me every chance you get." I say with a mock stern look along with a smile. I gave my mother a kiss on her cheek and shook my father's hand. "So, did you boys have a good time?" He asks with a small smile. "Actually yes, we had a pretty good time, ummm I have some news to tell both of you, could we meet up in your office in about 30 minutes?" I ask. "Sure son, not a problem." He says as both him and my mother continue on their way. I headed up to my room for a quick shower. During my shower and while now making my way to my father's office, I have not been able to stop thinking about Ash, my beautiful mate. "Mate is very pretty, I can't wait to meet her wolf." Max says. "Don't you mean her Lycan? There hasn't been a wolf shifter around in over a hundred years or so, what makes you think she is a wolf?" I asked while trying to wrap my mind around what he just said. Of course, he didn't answer me at that moment. The office door was already open, so I did a quick knock while walking in, then closed the door behind me. I look at both of my parents for a short moment. "I found my mate," I said. They both just look at me with wide eyes and even bigger smiles. I continue. . . "But something is off, Max seems to think she is a wolf shifter." Max pushes himself through, "I don't think mate is wolf, I know mate is definitely wolf." He says then lets me have control. "Damnit Max! Stop doing that!" I yell at him, but he just huffs and blocks me out. "That can't be. Wolf shifters haven't been seen in over a hundred years." My father says while rubbing his chin with his hand. "She may not be aware of what she really is, and if she is indeed, wolf then. . . " "She just may be the very last of her kind." My mother finishes. "Her birthday must not be too far off then, if Max can scent her wolf, she may have already felt the mate bond as well." I say "And first time shifts are much more painful for wolf shifters than it is for us lycans." Mother says. After the conversation with my parents, I said goodnight and headed off to bed. I have a feeling that I won't be getting much sleep tonight, plus with Max whining because he wants to be with Ash. All of a sudden he stops. "Human, I can go to her in a dream, I can talk with her, and maybe it will be a bit easy for her and also us." "I didn't know you could do that!" He huffs and rolls his eyes. "There are some things you don't know human." "Goddess Max! You know damn well I hate it when you just call me human, I do have a name, remember." I finally agreed, then I lay down hoping to get some sleep. (Ash's POV) Kim, Toni and I walked back home from the game room, but all I could even think about was that guy, Rick. I'm so confused as to what he sees in me, like he is totally hot as hell, and I'm just. . . Well, I'm just me. I'm nothing special, even though my mother and grandfather would always tell me that I am very special, that God has a bigger plan for me when I am older. As I'm running every possible theory about what it is that this man wants with me, Toni breaks me from my thoughts when she starts talking to me. " Hey! Lost in space over there I see." She says, then we all laugh. "Are you OK over there kid? Is something bothering you?" Kim asks while patting me on top of my head, roughing up my hair, knowing I hate when anyone does that. "I can't stop thinking about that Rick guy." I say, then feel my cheeks start to heat up a little bit. "Maybe you just need a good night's sleep." I nodded and said goodnight once we walked into the house. I head up to my room and do my nightly routine, then jump on my bed and turn my TV on till I slowly start to fall asleep, and it doesn't take long for me to start having a weird dream. (The Dream) I'm running through the woods, being chased by a huge wolf-like creature hot on my heels. The weird thing is that I'm used to being out in the woods while horseback riding, but this time it was like a maze, with all the twists and turns, and just my luck. . . A dead end. The river in front of me is too wide to even jump over, and the water is moving way too fast to try to swim across. As I was trying to figure out what the hell I was going to do. I hear a twig snap from somewhere behind me. I slowly turned around to face my possible death. My eyes lock on to a pair of deep ocean blue eyes looking right back at me.
