Sérafin only had two more classes after lunch, their week consisting of a switch off between four classes a day, which she didn’t mind one bit. Especially since the first day was all general courses, meaning tomorrow would be the good stuff and she absolutely could not wait.
Sérafin was worried only a little bit about earlier, “future Alpha Jordan”. He hadn't really been her mate; Sérafin had just been so pissed off that she had wanted to make him hurt for Laiken’s sake. Laiken didn't deserve that embarrassment in front of most of the school if not all, but Jordan had. Two hybrid mates back to back, how unlucky were you?
Sérafin smiled internally, being a witch did have its perks.
Now though, it was a moment of truth as she walked through the corridors to find the RA on her floor to see where her stuff had been taken and who she was rooming with. When she found the room at the end of the hall with RA in huge red letters next to it, she figured she might as well knock. It seemed everyone else had already been situated. Of course the empty hall was Sérafin’s doing as she had waited until she was sure the others had found rooms. The continued stares and rude looks tempted her wolf’s uncontrollable anger too much.
The door whipped open and Sérafin could feel the saliva drip from her mouth and swallowed subconsciously, as a God, yup that’s who he was and he smelled like heaven too, the fruits and spices of her home coming to mind as three identical but different males in demeanor and hair style stood within eyesight. The door opener had a low fade and a gleaming diamond in his left ear, to the right and left of him respectively, a loc'd mohawk, gold chain and full right arm tattoo sleeve that arced out and over his right pec through his beater, the other had a curly high top fade, earrings in each ear and an oversized red Arcane hoodie with white block letters. Oh Gods, they all smelled like heaven, they had to be upperclassmen and their stares were so deadly that the mighty Bruja took a step back. The one that had opened the door like a wild man leaned in close and sniffed. The other two had disgusted looks on their faces. Well what else was new?
“Why do you smell like spiced fruit?” The door opener asked.
Sérafin took a deep breath rolling her eyes ignoring the question, cause wtf?
“I’m here to get my dorm assignment if you don’t mind, please?”
Why did she sound confident at first but change it to a question?
Nope, nah, dis isn’t happening. I'm always confident regardless of da stares. Why was he staring at me like dat dough?
Sérafin held her head up and waited. The lookalikes behind the low fade chocolate man didn’t move, while the one who opened the vestibule bent to a side table next to it and looked at the list on a clipboard doodle with a p***s on the back and she had to stifle a giggle with a nose flare and heavy breath.
“Only one person hasn’t checked in, must be you, Sérafin, a bruja hybrid in room 224 with Laiken Waters,” those golden depths met her deeper red ones again and she swallowed again, “ another hybrid.”
Where was all this saliva coming from? In Louisiana you saw men like this everyday, especially in a pack as big as hers.
Sérafin visibly sighed and then tensed back up when the one with the mohawk snatched the board from the low faded ones hand that had reached back with the board not taking his eyes off hers and stared at it incredulously before mohawk looked to high top who kept looking from the board to her, board, her, board, her.
“Disgusting, what have we turned into, a zoo?” Sérafin flinched as the mohawked one spoke and looked back at her then high top snatched the board from him to look as well.
High top asked, “what's a bruja?”
Low fade answered serious and calm, no sign of a funny bone.
“A witch.”
“So why the f**k not just say that?” High top scratched his head confused.
Then he looked just as disgusted as mohawk man and spoke again.
Not that high top’s opinion really mattered to Sérafin.
“Alaster, you’ve got to be kidding, why would the headmaster put them on our floor?”
Without even looking away, low fade or Alaster, whatever, crossed his arms and leaned against the door jamb.
“Because they know regardless of feelings, we’ll still do the job right.”
Sérafin really wanted to leave now, they made her uncomfortable and the fact that they talked about her as if she wasn’t right in their faces.
Gods, gimme a break.
“I tell you what Alphas, I’ll stay out of your way and you stay out mine.”
Oh she had really done it now, cause the two in the back looked highly offended.
“The f**k you talkin’ to big back? - Mohawk.
“I resemble that remark. - High-Top laughed.
“We are Lycan, not wolves. - Alaster was very serious and not at all about the games.
Sérafin smacked a hand to her forehead and let it go, this was going nowhere, and she wanted to put her books down before the last meal time.
Well at least that explained the different smell, she had never met a Lycan before and they gave off the smell of her favorite fruit, elderberry, the tree she had sat under earlier and a combination of chocolate with sweet spices she couldn’t quite put her finger on.
“I apologize, I have never met a Lycan before and you smell strong like an alpha, I apologize for assuming, Mama always says when you assume, it makes an ass out of you and me.”
“You’re the only ass here and it is huge by the way.” Mohawk was exceptionally rude and high top laughed hard, grabbing his side.
Alaster just said, “ Kaden be respectful, we are her seniors after all.”
“Whatever,” was Kaden’s reply as he turned to go sit on a couch from where she could see and stared at her from the other two’s back, taking a thumb and motioning it across his neck, just great, now she could add Lycan to the list of species who hated her just for simply existing. Sérafin would really like to know why her parents falling in love was such a big and terrible deal.
On the other hand, their room was actually pretty big and fancy from the view she got, but seeing as though there were three of them, she imagined they would need the space.
“I dink I should go find my room and check on Laiken.”
Kaden laughed.
“Yeah, heard she got rejected, sad s**t, maybe someone will find the mutt attractive one day.”
How the male could make a sincere statement sound shitty as all get out, astounded her. Throwing him a look of displeasure and rolling her eyes, she looked back at Alaster.
“Dank you, see you around Lycan.”
Sérafin gave a short wave then turned and left to find her room. The other two were d***s but tall, dark and dreamy was making her hot and bothered. And why did she feel like she was sweaty all of a sudden? It was making her antsy and she could feel her wolf trying to surface even though she wasn't feeling any intense emotion besides annoyance. Right?
