I was surprised to discover how much I missed Lily. As much as I wanted to claim not to like her, she had wormed her way into my heart. I now considered her a true friend, and I really wanted to talk to her about what Derek had said.
When I tried talking to Van about it, it felt like he gave me a standard ‘man’ answer. He suggested that maybe I had misunderstood the meaning behind Derek’s words and that I should call him to talk about it.
